Hello! We have been Disney exiles for a few years cause had 2 babies in quick succession, but the first one will be 3 in September (the second one will be 1 and a half) so I feel that the time has come to sneak a DLP trip in. I haven't done it before with children though so am trying to work out how to do it best, and was thinking Davy Crocketts ranch might be good cause they can have their own bedroom and we might actually get some sleep, which is always good.

Question though - do you get free parking at the park and how near the main gate is the parking? Has anyone stayed at the Ranch and is it nice? We used to stay at Sequoia Lodge and loved it.

Other Q is where is the best place to book, I'm thinking just the official site because its the 50% extra free deal, so would only be £580 for 4 nights in September, which is good because after paying childcare we will have about a tenner a month left over, so cheap is v important.... if anyone knows of any even better deals please let me know! Thanks:)

Hi!
If I recall correctly, parking is free to people staying at DCR. I stayed there in 2009 and it was a great experience, but very different to staying on site. Also, the breakfast was free when I went, but isn't anymore, which is a shame. It's about 5 minutes away from the park.
Sorry I can't be of much help re. your other questions, and i'm sure someone else will be able to give you much better advice! :rotfl:

You get a pass to show and you can park for free. The car park is about 5 mins away from the parks but depends on how far back you end up

Because we're a family of 6, we've always used the DCR, and I love it :goodvibes

Some of the older cabins were getting a little run down a few years ago, but they've all benefited from a refurb now.

Personally I would book the cheaper accommodation option, i.e., the traditional 2 bed cabin as opposed to the Premium. The former has a much cozier lay out, e.g., a proper sofa (bed) and chairs in the lounge, as opposed to the Premium which simply has wooden table chairs and a narrow bench seat along a wall (like you might find in a pub :confused3).

The Premium also feels very cramped due to the inclusion of a 2nd shower room. The traditional has a bath & shower, which my kids preferred when they were smaller.

The pool is fantastic, and if you opt for a swim during the day, you'll often have it to yourself.

The shop on site is limited, and very expensive....but the Auchan supermarket at Val de Europe is less than 10 minutes drive away, so you can stock up on lovely food and drink etc. there and save a fortune.

Finally, if you are eating out, the DCR Tavern buffet is consistently great for an evening meal :thumbsup2

Stayed at DCR in October, we got free parking at main car park. I was dissapointed that they dont provide breakfast anymore but my kids get up at 6am anyway so everyday we set off for the parks at 7.30 each morning, so we were one of the first ones in the car park.

we had one of the older cabins, but it was fine for us.

Drive was so easy there and back each day, kids loved getting from the car park to the parks on the escalators (when they were working), took us around 10 mins to walk.

We book just hotel and park tickets through the main site and book ferry seperately.

photos of the cabin on my facebook photos (sorry loads so will have to look through)

Totally agree with markpsych & bpeacock :)

Love dcr and perfect for little ones :) and my experience there and Cheyenne just as good if not better! :)

Top-tip for breakfast is as its now not included, pop to the onside shop first thing for fresh warm baguette croissants and pain au chocolat delish! And at around 1euro each cheaper than paying for breakfast per person @ 6euros :)

Great, thanks all! Think DCR it is, I think it will suit 2 v small ones better than hotel at this stage. We have stayed in hotels numerous times and always end up sitting in the bathroom with a glass of wine once we have got them into their cots - not ideal, think a nice cabin with sitting room may be a lot more sensible!! And from what you all say it will be fun.

Thanks again:wave2:

We sat in corridor at Cheyenne! Lovely but nice to get Jammies on and chill out! We do find we go to bed much earlier when we're at Disney as we're shattered! But at the summer my wee one was only 9 weeks do I sat on sofa feeding him then got him down then a wee but of Olympics then bed! Is great for stocking fridge up with Coll drinks also and my husband (big softie) used to make kids microwave popcorn and refill the tubs they got on first day! Farm is great and the characters are scrum free! Some of our best character pics are at dcr :)
