I've seen this posted often in recipes etc. What is it and how can you use these syrups??

Thanks :)

Hi Panfan!
DH & I love these syrups. We use them primarily for flavoring coffee, esp. cold coffee. We also use them w/ coffee, powdered milk, ice and put them in the blender for frappes. Great low carb, fat-free snack.
You can often find these syrups in TJ Maxx or Marshall's. Lower prices but the selection in flavors is not as good as thse two websites: netrition.com and davinci.com
We like chocolate, white chocolate, amaretto, french vanilla and hazelnut.

There's also a brand called Torani, it's available in most of the grocery stores here...Albertsons, Frys, and a local chain Basha's. Love the sugar free hazelnut in coffee! Yummmmmmmmm.

It's basically flavoring, water & sucralose... in just about any flavor you can imagine!

DaVinci's website is www.davincigourmet.com. You can find Torani at www.torani.com. There is also a brand called Monin... www.monin.com, and Atkins has their own brand (though they're a little pricier, and not as flavorful, in my opinion). If you have a Super WalMart near you, check the coffee aisle - they carry large bottles of the DaVinci sugar-free in vanilla, and usually hazelnut in a smaller bottle.

If you're creative, and if the recipe can handle extra liquid, it's a great substitute for Splenda in low-carb cooking/baking. (Splenda has 1 carb per packet, and 24 carbs per cup of granular... that can really add up!)

There's a wonderful cheesecake recipe called "Beachgirl's Cheesecake"... if you use 1 cup of DaVinci sugar-free syrup (any flavor), instead of the cup of Splenda, you save 24 carbs in your cheesecake... not to mention get a creamy texture, and more flavor.

A tablespoon or two of DaVinci in heavy whipping cream gives you scrumptious whipped cream.

I use it to make homemade ice cream... I've used it in muffins, brownies, microwave cakes, coconut oil fudge, mousse, shakes, frozen cappucinos, to make jello, cranberry sauce, strawberry/rhubarb crisp... it's great mixed in with cottage cheese and chopped pecans... or mixed with peanut butter, cream cheese and heavy cream for a quick fat fix... poured over shaved ice it makes great (carb-free!) snow cones... I've also seen recipes using an orange flavor in pork & stirfry dishes.

One of those discoveries I'd have a hard time doing without!

Thanks for the ideas!!
I was reading the recipes last nite ( cheesecake ) and saw the syrup listed in some of the recipes.

Zeraspride....you got me thinking about cheesecake last nite talking about the Ruby's one! I know I shouldn't have any for a while though! But it is nice to know it is an option after I get going! I love cheesecake!

We have a new line at my restaurant ...it's made especially for restaurants by the Cheesecake Factory....You would not believe how much fat, calories, sugar and carbs are in ONE slice! The salesman also gave me a brochure a few weeks ago about a sugar free/low carb cheesecake . At the time I didn't pay attention but I am going to "re-investigate" tonite!

Thanks again!
