David & Ivan "Mayan Experience"

Has anyone every gone on this particular tour, which includes lunch with a Mayan Family? It sounds very interesting, but yet I'm a bit apprehensive. I was hesitant to go on a ruins tour at all, having younger kids (9 & 6) that might get bored with all of the history...yet I hear nothing but rave reviews, and feel I could be cheating our family out of a very great experience if we pass on it and hang out at beach in Majahual instead. I am especially interested in hearing from anyone that has taken the tour that includes the lunch (can't find many posts on this), as I already know how awesome the regular tour is. Thanks for your help! I love these boards!

We are doing the Mayan Exp. in two weeks. We heard great things from another Dis-boarder. Great tour, great lunch, no worries about cleanliness or "revenge", great experience for kids, etc. Based on that review, we booked it.

Somebody just did a nice big report on this, however I'm at work and can't take the time for a search. Try a search limited to just the Cruise Trip Report forum and it should show up. There is also a pretty active thread right now on David & Ivan and should probably be on page one....that report may actually be there.
