Hey all,

Last year we rented a VGC studio villa through DVC Rental and they got it booked within 3 days.

This year we put our application in and it's been over a week and they haven't been able to find someone to book for us (we are booking 9 months out)...

I am just curious if anyone else has booked and how long it took for their request to be fulfilled? Trying to figure out how long to wait before moving on to booking our Plan B hotel...

Thanks in advance!

It will depend on the availability of the room you requested for your dates, and if there is a member with VGC as there home resort looking to rent out their points.

For the first 2 weeks of December there is pretty limited availability for studios, it's pretty open the 3rd week of December (15-21).

If you want to stay at VGC 1 bedrooms are pretty much available all of December.

If upgrading to a 1 bedroom isn't an option and they don't find someone by 7 months out I would suggest you move to your Plan B hotel.

We booked through the rental store for our upcoming visit in May. Booked at 9 months out. It took about 2 weeks for them to find someone willing to rent points. I think it can take a bit longer because before 7 months out it has to be someone who owns at VGC.

When I book at WDW through DVC Rental it takes a few days at most but I am typically booking at the 11 month period. VGC is difficult as its the only DVC option in Anaheim and it has limited space. I booked in Oct at the 11 month mark and it took about 2 weeks

I tried to book at 11 months out and waited 2 months on the waitlist with two major rental agencies and no movement on my request. I personally was looking at the end of September to maximize an AP out there while also hoping to grab the chance to see SW:GE. When I got no movement I decided to look on the Rent/Trade board in the DVC forum and noticed some owners renting through there. So I cancelled my requests and went that route. I suspect VGC owners are going to want to command a higher $ per point right now or planning on using the points themselves since SW:GE opens there first (and since they are the only ones in town they can get away with it especially considering the rate differential at DLR is much higher than WDW between DVC rooms rented and Cash Rooms). So because of this they might be avoiding going through the Rental Agencies, just a thought.

If you decide to Rent from an owner on DIS never respond to a solicitation is the biggest piece of advice. Typically you would initiate first contact to a post they have put up. Also read the other posts on there about what you can do to safeguard yourself and money.

Thanks for the input everyone! I guess last year I got lucky with the 3 day turn around...I'll give it a few more weeks before going to Plan B...

Cheers!

I think I got my room a lot quicker since it's larger group and we were looking for a 2 BDRM. It will be my first time staying at VGC as well :)

First time booking for this year... hopefully. We went on the wait list at the 11month timeframe (five weeks ago). When I checked last week there were still approx 20 people in front of us. I have plan b and c in place at the moment.

I am sure star wars land will affect it. Most will prob use their points to see it instead of rent them out I bet.
