We are going back home the end of July to celebrate Dad's birthday and Braxton's 5th birthday. We did CRT last year during our trip in November. It's the obvious choice for a little girl's birthday. Although we loved Main St USA alone for the photo ops it provided early in the morning, we were not overly impressed with the breakfast food itself.

What are some other suggestions to make her day magical and special, (I know, as if being at Disney isn't enough! haha) but you know what I mean, what can I do to really celebrate her day? We will be leaving the next day. Also want to add we are NOT against doing CRT again, just wondering if it will have the same magic for her, since we just did that less than a year ago?

Thought I would add we probably will be getting AP's for the first time this trip and probably the TIW card rather than the dining plan.

Thanks!

Thought about it, but the menu doesn't look too appealing? Maybe let me know what you thought of the food if you have dined there....

Have also considered Hoop De Doo and also would love to do the Tea at GF but holy cow  $250??? Nah, not that interesting to me for that price.

We did also do the Pirate experience last year, the kids loved it but I don't think we'd spend the money to do that again. I'm having major creative block here!! :rotfl:

What about starting her day at BBB getting all "princessed up" and then maybe doing CRT for lunch? Or having dinner at 1900 Park Fare with Cinderella, Prince Charming, Lady Tremaine, Anastasia and Drizella? We ate there last August and enjoyed it. The step-sisters are hilarious!

There is also a cheaper version of Alice in Wonderland Tea Party at the GF. My daughter was about 5 or 6 at the time and loved it. The Mad Hatter and Alice host the party. It seems at that time which was about 5 years ago it only cost around $40. They had lunch and played games. The whole thing lasted about 2 hours. Might be worth checking into to see if they still offer it.

We did the BBB for DDs 4th bday and did the CRT for dinner - we were dissappointed only in that there is no "special" bday everyone who has a bday, anniversary, etc raises their hand and you sing. We had a much better time at other places during that week. Tusker House - brought her out her own cupcake and a card signed by the characters (this was her favorite). We also had a dinner at chef Mickeys and the CMs and some characters sang and danced with her and brought her a card. I would definately do one of those over CRT in the future. Just a note we were celebrating DMIL & DFILs bday this past trip and they got a card and cupcake at Tusker House also!!!

I second BBB - - it's a magical, wonderful, sweet experience for princesses-in-training. Our DD has done BBB when she was 3 and 4 and loved it both times. We opted for the Coach package (cheapest) and just bought one of her princess dresseses from home, rather than buying the dresses at BBB for $175. She still received an updo and make-up (although they painted her nails and didn't do the press-on nails - which I read fall off very easily). Also, something else to think about is doing the "Afternoon Tea" at the GF. Although it doesn't have characters like the Princess Tea, they still use china and it is still an authentic tea experience (at about a tenth the price of the Princess Tea - LOL).

Either way, I'm sure your little girl will have a wonderful Disney birthday! Happy planning! :goodvibes

We love to decorate our room .... windows doors..... she would love it!!! My children always have and passing guests!!! The kitchen sink , at Y&B.... I think the name of the restaurant is Beaches and Creme if I am not mistaken.... wow great food, named best burger in Orlando area a few years back..(something like that) and I am sure you can find a pic of the kitchen sink on the dis somewhere!!! Oh to be her, I hope her birthday will be wonderful!!!!!!

Thank you all for the great ideas! I think I will check into BBB. I would love to spend the big bucks on "the dress" for her, but I will def bring one from home if that's what we decide to do! She would love that for sure.

Will check into the restaurants suggested & the cheaper tea party. Great ideas, thanks!

We bring our dress too from home!! I can't imagine paying that much for a dress I can get online at the disney store for $50 (or less on sale!!!)!!

When our DD turned 5, we took her to the princess b-fast in Norway. Because we were the 1st party to check in, (1st seating of the morning) she was honorary princess and princess Aurora took her to open the restaurant. She rec'd a card autographed by all the princesses and when they found out if was her b-day, they all wrote a special b-day wish in her autograph book. (Mind you she will be 10 this year so I don't know if they will still do all that). It was a great day! Whatever you do, it will be great!

Do the princess thing before it all fades away!!!!!! Those princess years do go away and all too soon. BBB is a great idea!! My DD has always brought her own dress from home and while when she was younger that was an actual princess dress but since she's been about 7 that has been one of her own fancy dresses as she would not be caught dead in an actual "princess" dress. :confused3 Anyway after the BBB appt. I would be tempted to do CRT again for her or GF's dinner with Cinderella if you don't want to do Norway. Again her desire to eat with the princesses will wane so eat it up while you can!! My DD loved to dine yearly at CRT's until again age 7...she's now 8 and turning 9 at the end of the summer. Now I miss how she used to get excited to see the princesses and wear her princess gown...do it up 5 is BIG!!!!

My DD is 4 1/2 and loved the BBB, then we went to breakfast at CRT. My friend's brought their twins too and were celebrating their b-day. The twins got a special BBB sash that was a birthday sash. (We also did the cheapest package and brought our own dresses.) They all loved meeting the princesses while they were dressed up too. We had been there when my DD turned 4 but did not do BBB, however I took a present in a gift bag and secretly gave it to the check in person. As the host took us to our table, she informed my DD that Cinderella had left a b-day present for her at our table. My DD was thilled to see that "Cinderella" had given her her own pair of dress up glass slippers.

If you do BBB and you have a photo pass, be sure to go to the front of the park to the Expostion Hall to have her pictures taken. They do not charge you a sitting fee, you just pay for your pictures that you want to buy. We usually get a lot of pictures taken in the parks and just buy the photopass CD.

Last year when Imogen turned 5 we took her to Norway for the princess lunch and then to Citricos for dinner, they had a menu printed up with her name on it and made a big fuss of her - then we watched the fireworks from the beach at the GF
