Daughter will need to use a wheelchair. Now what?

Hello,
We will be at Disneyland for a quick trip next weekend and my daughter just sprained her ankle and is unable to bear weight. We need to keep her off her feet as much as we can.

I do believe we can rent a wheelchair near the entrance. Is this correct?

However, we are also staying at the Disneyland Hotel and the walk from there to the parks seems to long for her just using her boot and/or crutches.

Is anyone aware of a reputable company where we can have a wheelchair delivered to the hotel on our arrival night?

Also, what do I need to know about going through the lines with a wheelchair?
This is all new to us!

Thank you!

Yes. You can rent a wheelchair just to the right of the Disneyland entrance. You get part of your money back after you return it.

For all rides in California Adventure and a few in Disneyland such as It's a Small World, you'll just go through the regular line in your wheelchair and they'll have special accommodations when you get to the front of the line. For a lot of rides in Disneyland, you'll go to a cast member, usually at the exit of the ride and they'll give you a return time in the app. You can just do whatever you want in the meantime and then go back there when your time is ready and they'll send you through a special line. They'll ask if your daughter is able to take a few steps and sit in a regular seat or if you want to wait for the special wheelchair ride vehicle which can take longer.

There are reputable wheelchair rental companies in the area. I think one stop mobility is the one referenced here but I’ll look further.

edit: Deckerts / Deckert Surgical is referenced here

If you are staying at the DLH, DGC, or PPH, Scooterbug is the only one allowed to drop off at Bell Services.Any others, you will need to meet the driver. My preference is Deckert's.

Also, check with the DLH/GCH, they often have chairs you can rent that will allow you to exit the security area back to the hotels while you stay.

We used to always use Deckerts as well. They are super nice and helpful there. You will just need to meet the driver to receive the chair.

We have now bought our own chair, so have it all the time. The cast members will direct you where to go at each ride. When in doubt, just ask and they will help you get to the right place. A lot of the Fantasyland rides + Space Mountain + Indy, you will need to get a return time to come back later and then enter through the exit. Again, cast members will direct you where to go and what you need to do.

Thank you! I called this morning and they said due to a change in policy Disneyland Hotel no longer has wheelchairs available. I am not sure if this pertains to the other Disney Resorts as well, but thought I would share.
