Daughter was in a car accident

My daughter called us a little while ago and someone hit her from behind while she was stopped to make a left hand turn. Luckily the plow truck she was waiting for was able to avoid hitting both cars- I don't even want to think about how that would have ended up, she drives a 1988 Chevy Nova! Anyway, my dh thinks he can pull most of the dent out, but the drivers seat was broken and the insurance company will probably total the car. I felt bad for the girl who hit her, her car was in bad shape and she was from the northern part of the state so she had nobody to come get her, she was sitting in the police car when we left.

:( How old is your daughter? I live in constant panic with teens out driving. I'm glad she is okay.

how awful, and scary! both for her and for you and your DH! i'm so glad she's okay.

Bleech, the dreaded phone call.....I always hate when my 19yodd is out driving in this weather as well.

Glad to hear your dd is OK.

She just turned 21.

Thank heavens that plow avoided them. I would have liked to have thanked him (he got out to make sure the girls were okay, then a Sheriff happened on the scene) he was gone when we got there.

Good that your daughter's okay!

This isn't directed at Mermaid02's daughter in any way - it's a general PSA:

When waiting to make a left turn, keep your tires pointing straight ahead - not into the turn!!!

Wouldn't you still slide into oncoming traffic if hit from behind

Phew! I hesitated to post that. I was afraid you'd think I was criticizing her driving! :)

I'm glad you did! The turn she was making is a very sharp one, almost reversing your direction- I bet her wheels were at least slightly turned. Honestly, if that plow had hit her she might have been killed.

I'm so glad she is OK and the other girl too. I have a nineteen year old daughter and hate it when she drives in bad weather too. Thank goodness you had a good outcome.

It doesn't matter how old our kids get, we will always worry about them!

Glad she is okay!

I am glad that your daughter is doing well:hug:. I know you must have been a nervous wreck when you received the call:hug:
