Today, DD5 got hit in the forehead at the Tangled show. Flynn accidentally let go of his frying pan and it flew right into her forehead. She is fine and Disney more than made it up to her. I tried to just let it go, because she really was fine. A good goose egg, but really she just brushed it off. They made us go to first aid and they took information for a report, I guess. I'm curious now, though. Does anyone know if anything happens to Flynn? :( Definitely don't want him in trouble for it, but from my reading here, it seems the CM get in trouble easily. Anyone know?

Oh no, your poor dd. I do hope Flynn doesn't get in trouble but I wish it hadn't of happened. I bet now they will make him tie the frypan to his hand.

Your poor lass but will be a funny story in years to come.
No idea about FR getting into trouble, we all make mistakes in our jobs at sometime or another.
I'm sure First Aid etc was just a precaution to show they took care of you. For health and safety/legal reasons.

My guess?

IF Flynn was supposed to be wearing some sort of strap that is provided, but was not just out of choice or negligence, yes, he will get in trouble.

If no such safety measure was in place, one will be now, and Flynn will not get in trouble as he did nothing wrong.

Glad your daughter is okay.

Yeah, kind of surprising that safety conscious Disney doesn't have some sort of lanyard attached to the pan for his wrist (think Wii remotes :thumbsup2).

I think Dreams is spot on. If there was a safety put in place and he wasn't using it. Shame on him. Write up time. If there wasn't... That will be a "corrective action" put into place to prevent future incidents.

What a story!

I hope it doesn't strain the show for next year when I want to come and see it. I bet he felt as bad as all of us would have in his place!

Kudos for being a nice family that knows that things happen, checking it out, and moving forward.

Good for your family for taking it in stride!! There are so many guests out there that would get $$ in their eyes and complain that their magical trip was not so magical. Everyone is okay and it sounds like you will have good story for years to come. Also very nice of you to think about poor Flynn.

1) It is definitely not Flynn's frying pan.
2) I've seen Tangled! several times, and can't recall him ever touching it.
3) There's no strap - at least anything visible from the audience
4) Given how Rapunzel swings that flying pan around, the risk of it flying away has always been there. (I would hope it is made of a material that allows for a very sure grip)

Tangled, as in the movie?

He takes out four royal guards and battles Maximus with it in the quarry. You know, "Man, I have GOT to get me one of THESE" and "You should know this is the strangest thing I've ever done". :confused3

On the more important subject: also glad OP's DD is okay! :goodvibes

I am really glad that your DD is ok...but I have to be honest...this made me chuckle a little...what are the odds...I would like to know though is it a real frying pan like made of metal?

So glad your DD is okay! Your poor DD, that must have been quite a surprise. At least she will have a story to tell forever. Poor Flynn must feel awful. I hope he didn't get in trouble. Hopefully, they will realize that since they have done multiple shows a day for over a year now, if this was the first time it has happened it was just a one time accident. Hopefully he wasn't a brand new Flynn or something. That is such a cute little show. Even DH and I really enjoyed it. I'm curious, did they stop the whole show, or just rush you guys out and have the show go on?

Hopefully your DD won't blame Flynn. My DD (8) has refused to get anywhere near Bullseye for about 4 years now. We were at WDW at the MVMCP Toy Story dance party, and they were dancing and he bent over and accidently head butted her so hard on her forehead that he knocked her flat on her back to the ground. She had a really big goose egg and bruise on our forehead the rest of our trip. We didn't have to do any reporting though. She was bawling and hurting, but we didn't have any CMs even check on her or approach us. I'm guessing no one even saw what happened as Bullseye did not have a handler nearby and Bullseye just walked away after he flattened her (which I think is part of the reason she still won't get near him, but honestly I'm not sure he even could see or knew that he had just flattened her). Funny thing is when she was 2 or 3, Woody leaned over as DH was picking her up and accidently clocked her with his hat at the photo spot at DHS and gave her a big bruise on her forehead. Woody felt horrible though and made a big fuss over her. Gotta watch out for those Toy Story characters! :rotfl2: Apparently, you have to watch out for frying pans too!

That's what I was wondering too. Did Flynn stop??? Or continue on?? Could you imagine how bad he would have felt if he realized it hit someone???? I wonder if it's "The show must go on" type of thing or if it actually came to a halting stop?

wow, how terrible for your dd too!!! I hope they did something amazing for you guys cuz that would make a HORRIBLE memory for her. Ya, I've been to DL, I got hit in the head with a frying pan at one of the shows :(

Why in the heck don't they just make it out of plastic or something?

Glad your dd is ok!

Can you say "Lifetime Pass"!!!

The strangest thing about it is that I didn't even know they had a Rapunzel show. Man, do I feel dumb. I spent 4 days there last November and managed to miss it. My daughters would've loved it.

They actually played it off well since she wasn't crying or upset. He said something like "and let go of his frying pan too soon!" The piano played along with it, too. It was pretty clever. The CMs there went over by her to watch and then they just hung around until the end. I didn't realize it had hit her until the end.

They gave her a pass for any ride of her choice. First aid gave her a pass for Toy Story and one for Peter Pan. All the passes were good for our whole family of 6. After we were done in first aid they let her pick whatever seat she wanted for the next Tangled show. After that show, Rapunzel, Flynn, and the other story teller girls all walked her right through the Royal Hall. Flynn had said he wanted to escort her there so we all trekked through the secret entrance. They were great and playing with my 3 girls the whole time. It really was great. Not necessary for all of that, but we really appreciated it.

Oh, and I don't see how there would have been a safety in place to prevent it, like a strap, since they pass the frying pan. I'm sure there's a way and they may change something. It was cute when he kissed it better after everything. :)

Flynn definitely touches the frying pan. ;)
