DD 21 is graduating from university in April and has her heart set on working for Disney. Any inside tips or phone numbers to call to expedite this process?
It would be a dream come true for her if it happens!

check out some of the posts on the college board. disney has some arrangements with some of the us universities, but there is a website listed there that has a websit for info on working for wdw.

hope this helps.

DS24 is nearing the end of his one year term at Le Cellier. Although he was very excited last year at this time, he is quite ready to be finished. I think when Disney becomes a routine job, the magic eventually disappears. That being said, it's been a good experience for him.

There is a very informative "unofficial" website that your daughter will find really helpful www.wdwip.com

Disney hires through an agency called Cast-a-way. I believe this same firm hires for various cruise ship lines as well. Unless things have changed, Disney does interviews in Canada only twice a year. When DS applied in 2006, they had interviews in Calgary/Vancouver in November and then back in the Ontario/Quebec region the following March. We actually cashed in some air miles and sent him out to the western interviews - the timing was better for him and it all worked out really well. She might want to find out where the next interviews are going to be and try to attend them if they are in your area. The start dates can be several months after the interviews.

Hope this helps.

Where do you live? We dined at LeCellier and we had a server from Ontario. I think it was London, what was his name? I wonder if it was your son who served us our meal. :lmao:

His name is Matt - his Disney tag says London because that's where he went to university and I guess he wanted to use that rather than the Niagara region.;)

I had to chuckle reading this because it was my dream in University to work at Disney (I am now 42 with 2 kids and hubby but I still think it would be cook to work there). I recall that the recuiters came to every University to interview and I had an interview with them and they asked me "do you always wear that much make-up". I guess that was before all of their "beard and turban" lawsuits.....LOL

Good luck to your son.

Turns out my DD already knew about the castaway website and had sent an application and email.

She got a phone interview this morning and now has an actual interview in Toronto in February!!! :cloud9: :dance3:

:yay: :yay: Wish her good luck! I hope it all goes her way!

Good luck to your daughter. :thumbsup2
I took part in the Cultural Rep program 18yrs ago and I loved every minute of it. It is an experiance to last a life time. Disney also looks great on a resume.

My son is also wishing to work for Disney. Since he's only 12 now he has a while to go yet but thank you for all the information. He's hoping to do something with animation. He has wanted to do this since he was quite young 3 or 4 I think.

On our last cruise we met a gentleman who worked in the high tech side of Disney. He was on board updating some computer software and security stuff. We had a chat with him since DH was looking for new challenge. We followed his advice and went to the Disney Careers site and sadly, you cannot apply for positions if you do not live in the U.S. The guy at Cast-A-Way offered to let him audition as a cast member but wanted to know if he could sing! Uh - no. Apparently Cast-A-Way doesn't have anything to do with the corporate hirings. Too bad...

Wow oh wow! She got the job and starts in June! We are so thrilled!

Congrats!

My DD did the ICP Summer before last..and as you can see by the pictures ...she was a CM at the Haunted Mansion. She LOVED every minute...
In fact, she has been sitting here most of the evening looking at Internships avail for this coming year as she Graduates from University and it would be her dream also to get back there!:thumbsup2

  Congratulations! Is she going for a year? Will she be working food or merchandise? Now you'll have to start saving for the trips you're inevitably going to take to see her. ;) We went three times in the last year to see DS.

Congrats!!!!:goodvibes

And as a good parent you should go down to get her settled in and then atleast once every three months you need to visit,,,,,,,,just to see how she is doing.
:thumbsup2 ,,,
Hugs to you and your family

Congrats to your daughter. I did the International Program in 1997-98 and it was one of the best experiences of my life.

Thanks so much! She is on cloud nine!:cloud9: Literally ecstatic, over the moon :goodvibes :woohoo: :yay: And I'm almost as thrilled as she is!

Dreams do come true!

CONGRATS to your DD. :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Start planning your trips! Get your AP's! We weren't supposed to go at all in 2007 according to DH ;) , but my nephew Matt found out he got the job just before our Dec 2006 trip ... and they offered us the free dining bounceback for Aug 2007 while we were there, so DH says "of COURSE we have to book and come back when Matt is here". Managed to squeak in a little weekend trip in Dec 2007 as well, so Matt's placement in the International program was very advantageous to his Aunt as well. :lmao:

While I think the "magic" wears off and it becomes "just a job" after a while, it's still an awesome experience for these kids.

June will be here before she knows it! :goodvibes
