How do you even handle this? My daughter will be in Disney and Uni for 5 days with school. If the rest of our family books a free dining offer for 8 or 9 days (if they offer it) , how does my daughter join us when her school trip is over? Can she just stay in our room and eat off the regular menu? I think we can add days to her school bought park tickets.

If she is joining you in the middle of your stay, then you can add her to your room (if you are not at max occupancy). She won't have the dining plan, she can just order and pay or you can share your dining credits with her if you wish. I would verify whether the tickets she gets with the group is able to be upgraded. Some special tickets cannot have days added.

I would see, as well, what you have to do with the school to ensure that you can get her. There's going to have to be some sort of waiver or what not that you won't get a discount since she's paying the rate that the rest of the students are to go and there's the matter of signing off that you waive the school of responsibility of her when she joins you for the remainder of the trip.

Is she joining you for the full 8-9 days or is she joining you part way through?

I would first check to see if you can upgrade the tickets. As Ladyfish77 noted, as long as you don't go over room occupancy, you can add her to the room when she is ready to join you after the school portion of the trip. If you do get free dining, you may want to consider adding her to the room from the beginning. Yes, you would need to pay for tickets for her (but you could save them for a future trip if she uses the school tickets), but you would end up with a lot of extra dining credits which you could use for her and for others before she joins you. It would be interesting to do the math on it just to see if it would offer you any benefit.

Exactly where I would have gone next if she said she was there for a substantial amount of time. We have had family members go for only a few days and enjoyed the extra credits for signature restaurants etc. Especially since most report you can't add on to those group tickets.

Ok, thanks everyone. She would be joining us only on the last few days of our trip, so I really don't want to have to worry about tons of riding credits we may not use- we usually have them left over. How do I add her to the room when I book a package? Or do I do it when she arrives from her school trip? Do I even need to add her? Don't want extra hassle but don't want to break any rules either.

1. How do I add her to the room when I book a package?
2. Or do I do it when she arrives from her school trip?
3. Do I even need to add her? Don't want extra hassle but don't want to break any rules either.
1. If you add her before you arrive at DW you will have to get the dining package and tickets (esp if it is free dining) for her, but it doesn't sound like you want to add her to your package so...
2. Add her to your room after you arrive at DW. At the check in desk tell the castmember you would like to add your daughter to your room and she will not be included in the dining plan.
3. If you don't add her to your room she will not be able to participate in EMH and if you are using DME, she won't be able to ride it back to the airport.

Just adding to what purple figment said, when you add her at check-in, make sure to call DME and add her to your departure as well so she can get on DME with you back to the airport.

Thank you so much. This is the kind of thing I didn't think about. Will there be a charge for adding her to the room? It's just may husband , myself and my other daughter at Riverside.

Is she 18? If not, there will be no charge.

And you will not be able to add days to her ticket, if they are using the youth performing arts tickets (I would be shocked if they are not). They cannot be upgraded. You will need to purchase a separate ticket for the number of days she is with you.
