Me, my girlfriend and my dad will be going to Disneyworld Florida on September the 29th for 2 weeks so i was hopeing for answers to 2 question:

1. How busy would you expect the parks to be? In england it is 2 weeks after school restarts so it shouldnt be to busy from an english point of view but not sure about in America.

2. I have been to Florida 3 times and this will be my 4th, my dad has been once and my poor girlfriend has never ever left england! I was wondering what people think would be the best place to start to Really WOW her? I dont think it should be hard compared to England :rotfl:

Thanks for your answers.

Adam

1. Shouldn't be crowded at all.

2. Assuming you are asking which park to do first, then Magic Kingdom. Always Magic Kingdom.

Mostly in the 4 - 6 out of 10 range with a couple of 9's in between.

What would you expect waiting times to be? I went in june/july 2010 and waited about 20-30mins per ride, would you say less or more?

Y Magic Kingdom? Not saying your wrong lol just wondered why there?

Thanks

Waits will be less than June/July--no question in my mind.

As for MK, it is the oldest, most classic, most strikingly-themed of any of the four, and has a 189-foot-tall castle (not a golf ball, cone, or tree) in the middle of it. There is nothing in Florida more Disney.

20-30 minute waits for the biggies at Magic Kingdom (which I would go to first for the WOW factor)

:wave2::welcome: to the DIS, Adam!

You must be so excited to show her WDW!

School is back in session for all American kids by then and that time period will be pretty light, except for the opening days of the Food & Wine Festival at Epcot.

I would suggest that you try to secure a reservation for dinner at Epcot UK pavilion's Rose & Crown at about 8:00pm, so you can watch Illuminations (at 9:00) from their patio! It's a slice of home for your girlfriend, plus the amazing view of an amazing show!

Have fun planning and have a wonderful visit to WDW! pixiedust:

Glad it shouldnt be to busy then, i dont expect to walk onto the rides after 5mins but dont wanna be waiting to long!

Fair point, it is the main Disney area so that makes good sense!

Any other opinions?

Cheers though.

Thanks for the advice guys, like i say i have been 3 times but it feels like a whole new experience taking my girlfriend with me as its her first time, shes never seen anything like this, except maybe Alton Towers in england if youve heard of it?

Thanks Eljay ill look into that, Never really done the whole of Epcot, keep seeing about the ride "Soarin" dont think ive ever been on it?

Do try to be at MK 10 or 15 minutes before opening time, to see the lovely Welcome show that they do just before they open the gates. It really sets the stage for the day. At that point, you will be able to ride the main rides with very little wait time.

Didnt know they did a welcome show at all, think i may have missed out on alot, we always stay at a villa in Kissimmee so that may be why?

Soarin' is incredible, absolutely the most popular ride at Epcot. It's best to arrive early and get FastPasses for the ride.

You can go on www.waltdisneyworld.com and check availability at the Rose & Crown for your dates. It's a very hard to get reservation, but you can keep trying!

Near the top right, you will see "Where To Eat" then click on "Make Dining Reservations", to see availabilities.

What is the soarin ride all about then? I didnt think it was anything special everytime ive been?

I will look into that thanks.

Any ideas on the best WOW ride in the Disney parks? My favourite is Tower of Terror but thats not majorly Disney-ish.

Soarin' is hard to describe. They lift you up and place you forward into an IMAX screen that makes you think you are actually flying over California. The hanging seats actually swing and dip and there is wind and various smells that enhance the sensation. It doesn't sound like much, but it really is great!

Will have to look into that one, i am a fan of "simulator" type rides so sounds right down my street.

Any ideas on the best rides to show my girlfriend, i do think she will love them all but everyone must have special ones?

Haunted Mansion is my personal fave, but your mileage may vary. There is a wide variety of attractions though, so it really depends on your group.

Definitely not crowded at all but as a previous poster said the epcot FW fest can be a bit crowded. As far as unique disney rides: In HS you should check out the great movie ride, Star tours if you like star wars or simulators in general, for a show the car stunt show is pretty cool. For MK you need to do Pirates of the carribean, also splash mountain. In Animal Kingdom, not much but the safari is cool and expedition everest is ok if you like coasters. This list is based on popularity and what I think are "must do's" for first timers to WDW. Some of them are not well liked by a lot of people on here who go a lot, and i'd agree somewhat mainly because some of them can stand to be updated but if your girlfriend has never been there they are really the most popular, less intense, Disney type rides for the most part, if thats what you are looking for.

Well my party is in-different to say the least :rotfl:

As ive been 3 times i will go on any ride, although one at busch gardens nearly found my limit!!! My Dad and Girlfriend from what i can tell are not huge "simulator" fans, ie: Simpsons and my Dad was neaerly sick on the old Back to the future ride lol!

I am a big star tours fan, i think your right about the Safari my Girlfriend loves animals so that is a must do.

In my opinion the whole holiday as an experience is amazing so im really hopeing she'll love it! Just talking about it makes me remember it all :rotfl:

I think that most of the shows are a must and offer a huge WOW factor. In particular, The Magic Memories and You and Wishes @ MK, Illuminations @ Epcot, and The Lion King & Finding Nemo Musicals @ Animal Kingdom. Oh and Fantasmic @ HS. Well, I guess that's all of them. LOL.

When I took my two girls for the first time last year, MK was our first park and I surprised them with Breakfast in the Castle. They had no clue you could even go inside. It was pretty magical. Granted, they are preteen girls, but that may be something that would wow your girlfriend. I'm a 35 year old girl and it wowed me. :)

I agree some of the shows are great, ive seen Nemo and Fantasmic many years ago i do think she would like that.

Youre right about illuminations she will love that, wont have ever seen fireworks like it and never will again i shouldnt think.

Like i say she loves her animals so Lion king sounds a good idea and definately the safari.

Recently shes become a HUGE Muppet fan because of me :goodvibes so i no she will be eager to see that! (and me to, AGAIN)
