Any recs for a nice date night restaurant for DH and I? We're not on dining plan and have no preference as to what park.

if you're willing to splurge, THE best food without a doubt is at Victoria and Albert...

you will have the best meal of your life, and the service is outstanding as well....

How much do you want to spend? Must it be in a park? What do you like to eat? You may want to read the dining reviews here when trying to decide. :disrocks:

Without knowing anything about you, I'll offer our own opinions:
V&A's is certainly the best, most romantic, and most expensive restaurant on property. You will not forget your dining experience.

We love Yachtsman Steak House. Its a nice room and later in the evening can be a romantic setting, but that's not really its forte'.

Bistro de Paris (upstairs in France) is a wonderfully romantic setting with great food and service.

Citrico's at the GF is an elegant room, with refined service and a nice menu.

Victoria & Alberts tops our list.

Other favorites are the upscale restaurants at the Swan/Dolphin hotels. I think they are better than any of WDW's restaurants (except V&A) and since they are not on the dining plan, they are usually more adult and quieter.

Our personal favorite is bluezoo because we love fish. However Il Mulino and Shulas are also excellent choices. Il Mulino has the most romantic atmosphere of the 3.

We have enjoyed many nice meals at Bistro de Paris but I've read some recent reviews that are concerning (it has not been our experience as all of our meals have been wonderful).

Of those on the dining plan, Citricos probably has the best overall food/service/atmosphere.

1) I assume this is a "date night".
2) I also assume you want romance and some quiet.
3) I recommend
. . . V&A - romantic, but very pricey, definitely earned five-stars
. . . Shula's - quiet, few kids, nice environment, great steaks
. . . Il Mulano - great service, old-world atmosphere, fine Italian
. . . Bistro - fine dining, typical french service, few kids, quiet

Flying Fish is a go-to date night restaurant for my DW and I. Jiko is probably the most romantic signature restaurant; a window table at Bistro de Paris is a very romantic spot, too, but I did not think that the food was up to the standards for a restaurant of its stature. Citricos is a very good meal, as well, if you want to stay on the monorail for any reason.

Enjoy!

I thought about this and I picked a late night dinner at California Grill followed by watching Wishes from the balcony. I've never been to this restaurant or any of the other restaurants I considered--so I hope it turns out great! This will be our big night out for our Honeymoon trip this September.

CG is my favorite too. I used to go with my ex once on every trip, but we always got window seating, and would watch the fireworks from our table. After the balcony was pretty much empty post-fireworks, we'd go out there and have it all to ourselves :)

Monorail:
Victoria & Albert - jacket required for gentlemen.
CA Grill - for the fireworks.
Citrico's - for the service.

In the Parks:
Bistro de Paris - I have read too many mixed reviews, but plan on being my own judge some day.
Cinderella's Table - it's not always about the food - we all like being a prince or princess for the day.

Boardwalk:
Flying Fish - I find it too noisy, but the food is also excellent.
BlueZoo - may be best food at Disney; not part of Disney Dining.
Il Mulino - if you prefer Italian to Seafood; not part of Disney Dining.
Shula's - I wasn't impressed and found the service to be odd (they show you raw meat to help you make selections).

Last trip DW and I had our date night at CG and it was wonderiful

We actually had our ADR for right when wishes started so we got there early, got a drink and went out to the observation deck to watch the show - really, really great.

The meal was wonderful as well - lot of different choices, a great waiter, and a great bottle of wine.

There area number of kids there and it isn't the quietest place, but it does calm down after the fireworks so you might want to take your time eating and have desert after the show or something

I'd throw Artist's Point into the mix. It's not nearly as crowded and noisy as CG. Jiko is also a intimate setting.

Agreed -- if you want a quiet evening with delicious food, Artist Point is a great choice. For a Disney world restaurant, it is unusually quiet even when most tables are filled. We eat there once every trip and we have never been disappointed. After dinner you can take a nice relaxing walk on the WL beach, and stay for the water parade if you're interested. We also like Citrico's for both food and atmosphere. We're going to the California Grill for the first time later this month and from what I've heard I don't think we'll be disappointed there, either.

We have to agree as its always a special place for us...:thumbsup2

I hope you still go even though you aren't with the ex...:lmao:

If you like Japanese food, I would reccomend Tokyo Dining in EPCOT....Very quiet, and VERY few families choose this (most prefer Tepan Edo) and with all the traditional bowing and politeness, it is really a treat that will allow for an intimate conversation and lovely time....

If Japanese is not your thing, the Captain's Grille is classic American food, and fairly quiet.

These ADRs are fairly easy to get, which is also part of my reason for suggesting them....Also, they are in nice locations for a long stroll after dinner!;)
