Date and deck choice

Can anyone help me decide between 1/22/05, Deck 7, Cat. 8 cabin and 3/5/05, Deck 2, Cat. 9 cabin? Will it be warmer at CC in March, Does the deck level matter getting around the ship? I have to decide today to hold the price. Cost is about the same.

My vote is for March - nicer and warmer weather. IF you are prone to motionsickness at all, the higher up you are, the more you feel it. I once experienced Deck 7 MID after always being on Deck 5 AFT - felt every bit of it and HATED it!!!!!! (Was not my choice, there was a problem on Deck 5 Aft and everyone was moved!)

Also, in my opinion, the better view is starboard side.

I was on Deck 6, category 6 with a verandah in January. I highly recommend the verandah if you can do it. We go in January because it is very cold here and very warm there. I loved going in January.

We like deck 2 cat 9 because of the large porthole and you are so much closer to the water "way down there" than up on deck 5 or higher. Getting around the ship isn't a problem from any of the staterooms. Another benefit of deck 2 is that there are 7 (whew!) flights of stairs to climb to get up to deck 9. Why is that an advantage you ask - it's a good workout and therefore you get to eat more desserts at dinner . There are lifts (elevators) available if you need to take them.

Getting off in port is easy, it's just 1 flight down. Going to dinner is just one flight up (unless you are in Animator which is 2, or Palo up on deck 9 - THEN I take the lift - don't want to be pitted out for brunch/dinner at Palo!!)

Most of the evening activities are up in Beat Street which is 1 deck up. - See lots of advantages to deck 2. But remember, any deck on the Magic (or Wonder) is better than being at home!
