Dashing into December 2025 Exercise Challenge

61 minutes on a treadmill, with a lovely view of the snow outside. Back when I was in my 20s, running Disney marathons I considered it a badge of honor to run in the first snowfall. I'd take off work, go out on my lunch hour, etc. etc. Turns out, a few decades later, running inside on the first snowfall is just as lovely and a lot more fun!

We are just back from a short trip to New York! Did a lot of touristy Christmas things and had a really good time, but glad to be home!

New York Stock Exchange
Window at Saks (I really liked the reflections of the buildings across the street)
New York Public Library
Bryant Park

Evening all,

We're now into the second week of December and congrats to ShannyMcB, ElizabethSmith, myself (Clappyclaps) and the entire Team for reaching blue! And congrats to sophy1996 for flying through and hitting orange!

The next festive film to get us into the Christmas spirit is another Disney made film, The Santa Clause:

Starring Tim Allen, the film was released in 1994 and follows Scott Calvin, a marketing executive who accidentally causes Santa to fall to his death. He and his son finish Santa's deliveries, only to discover Scott must become the new Santa and has the next year to get his affairs in order.

Tim Allen was initially brought in after his success with the tv show Home Improvement, but both Tom Hanks and Tom Selleck were also in the running to play Scott. And in an earlier version of the script, Scott was due to kill Santa with a shotgun rather than it being an accident- understandably not Disney friendly!

Fun fact, Disney introduced several hidden elves into the film in the "regular world", children with elf ears, and they can be seen throughout - including a girl in the opening credits and a boy in Charlie's class. And there's also a hidden Mickey near the end of the film in the full moon. Keep an eye out next time you watch!

I'll leave you with a bit of a montage of some of the best bits of the film:

Things are getting even more crazy around here. Jury duty is now postponed until March because my dad is having bypass surgery the same week in Kentucky. We are heading down to stay with him all of next week. I also had a root canal last week and all of a sudden my tooth hurts really bad if I go outside in the cold. I head back tomorrow to get that checked because it should not be hurting. I have gotten some walking in but not as much as I would like.

My fitbit didn't record any time. I am going to give myself 40 minutes as I know I have done at least that much.

Do you have to call until you get on a case? We only have to call for 5 days. If we don't get called in during those 5 days, they move on to the next set of people and we are done.
Yes, I have to call daily M-F. It's rather annoying. I wish they could plan a week at a time so some normalcy could still happen for potential jurors. Like call in only on Fridays to find out if you are needed the following week. That would be so much better. Or the way you have. Just a short segment of the month. That would be fantastic.

Ooooh, I will pay better attention next time!

Did anyone else see that Hallmark and Disney are teaming up for a holiday romance set in Disney World? I've always thought Disney would be a great setting for a RomCom - Can't wait to see it!
That will be so fun to watch!

We took a quick trip back to Texas so I could attend a concert in Ft. Worth last night! Yesterday (Monday) morning, we took Charles to the Peppa Pig World of Play in the mall, then I had my show in the evening. I didn't spend any dedicated time exercising, but I'm going to generously give myself 25 minutes. We did some speed walking at the mall, I had to climb a ton of stairs at the concert venue, and I did a little bit of stretching before bed since my muscles were sore from all of that!

@piglet1979 , I am free! I had to appear at the federal courthouse yesterday for duty, but I was not selected to serve. I was there about 5 hours, and it was pretty interesting getting to see the selection process. Every single staff member from security to admins, lawyers, and judge were incredibly kind and pleasant. Best of all, now I no longer have to call in. Showing up and going through the selection process concluded my jury service. Hope you have a good experience, too!

Hallelujah!

I have 60 minutes for Wednesday. 40 minutes on the walking pad and 20 minutes of yoga stretching.

+63 minutes. I've found my new treadmill show - a show so frivolous I can only justify watching it while exercising but simultaneously so addicting that it pulls me back onto the mill and keeps me going. It's Teen Wolf from 2011. Sorry Once Upon a Time, your pilot episode just didn't hook me.
