Dasani in Disney. Let's do it again! Link to trip report posted!

Good luck on your interview tomorrow!

Edit: never mind, I just read your new posts above. That sucks...I've been looking for a full-time job to replace my part-time one for a while now. It's tough out there.

Yeah, I hope something else comes along!

ugh, sucks that you got your hopes up for that. (it did sound really good) Maybe another opportunity will present itself? (or the other person she found might not work out pirate:)

It was actually a temp job at Entergy (same thing my sister is doing now).

It's official!!!!

I just booked our trip!!:banana::banana:

Sept. 24-Oct.1 at All Star Music!! I'm so excited!! Now to figure out dining and stuff. Woohoo!!!!!

Congrats! That's exactly when we're planning to go, but the following year. I know there is usually free dining then, right? When does that usually come out? Do you just call and change it easily enough? My dh was just asking how that works.

Yay! Now the fun really begins. I love planning my trips to Disney almost as much as actually going :lovestruc

btw did you order the new disney planning DVD? I'm not even planning a trip but I ordered it a few weeks ago anyway. I am collecting them! :thumbsup2 Before our trips as a kid, when it got really close (or just when we were getting antsy!), my sister and I would sit down and watch all the planning videos that we (my parents) owned. So we'd literally be sitting there for several hours watching them...from oldest to newest. I cannot WAIT to do that with my kids. (Will be sure to take them to grandma's first so they can watch all those older ones too :rotfl2:)

Thanks! I think Disney will offer free dining again in the fall but I'm not sure when they will announce it. I'm thinking it will be pretty soon since the room discount promo ended yesterday. I'm not sure if we'd save more with free dining or the room discount, but I'm pretty sure you can alter your reservations to change discounts. You can get the free dining instead of the room offer, but you may have to make a new reservation.

Either way, I don't think we'll be changing because Darren gets a discount on theme park tickets (he's a UPS man) and with free dining you have to book a package through Disney, and it's not usually for a whole week, so we'd end up having to pay OOP for food for a couple of days anyway.

Congratulations!!

Thank you!!

Yayy congrats! :cool1:

YAY DISNEY!!!!

Me too!!!!

Girl, how do you think I got Darren into the Disney mood?? :lmao::lmao: We watched the new planning DVD the other night and Brayden was all into it, pointing out characters and saying "I wanna go Dinney Whirl" lol Darren was already thinking about it and that just sealed the deal.
We order the planning DVDs every time they have a new one too. I liked it when they came in an actual case instead of a paper sleeve though. I really don't like how they're cutting corners on stuff (no resort themed merchandise and mugs, etc).

Ok, so we're going with Darren's best friend, Chris, and Darren's parents. Only, Darren's dad doesn't know it yet! :rotfl: Darren's mom put the room on her credit card and we're just going to break the news to him later lol. So stay tuned to find out what his reaction is going to be! Hopefully he won't be too upset :rolleyes1

ANYWAY, I need help! I want to make some dining reservations this time (can you believe we've never went to a sit down restaurant in Disney before? Aside from RFC and T-Rex!) so I need some recommendations. Nothing to fancy (aka, expensive) and definitely kid friendly. I also want to see about booking a character meal, I'm thinking Crystal Palace! So let me know what you all think!

Does anyone know when the dates for Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party are coming out?

you are right about the paper sleeves!! I miss the cases they used to come in :sad1:

Okay, eat at Ohana!!! And 50's Prime Time Cafe. And do a character breakfast somewhere. It doesn't even matter where. You can't go wrong with a breakfast buffet. (dinner is a different story)

can't wait to hear darren's dad's reaction :rotfl:

LOL We're talking on facebook, texting and here :rotfl2: We must really like each other!

I was thinking Ohana. I LOOOOVE the Polynesian. I was thinking a breakfast buffet too.
I'm kind of worried about 50's PTC though. I'm shy so I definitely don't want to be called out in front of the whole restaurant if I don't eat my veggies!! I'd love to see my FIL or Chris get called out though, that'd be hilarious.

Yeah, I hope his reaction is a good one. I don't think I want to be there when he's told! :scared1:

We love Ohana's but we also don't have small kids. Until Brayden's old enough to do the coconut races I don't think it'd keep his attention. Chef Mickey's is fun as is Crystal Palace. Depends on what characters are the most important to you. We also like Whispering Canyon Cafe. Unlimited milkshakes is a huge selling point for my kids.

YAY! You're booked!!! I've never been with kids, but DH & I cannot wait to go to Disney with our future children - places we talked about taking them on their first trip (which would probably be on or before their first birthday :rolleyes1) would definitely be Chef Mickey's & Crystal Palace.

I can't wait to hear his reaction, haha.

Good point. I actually wasn't even thinking of Chef Mickey's until last night. Brayden's favorite characters are the Toy Story gang and of course, Mickey. I'll have to look into it. If CP is a lot cheaper, we might just do that.
WCC looks SO fun!! I'm going to check out the menu and prices and see if everyone would be able to swing it.

Hey, I hear you about going with the kids ASAP!! Brayden was 10 months on his first trip and Brynn will be just over one year old when we go! You can never start em too young I say! :thumbsup2

Father in law still doesn't know. I have no idea when MIL is planning on letting him in on it! Maybe the day we leave?

Where is everyone?? :confused3 Come on friends, I need some more restaurant recommendations!!
