DAS, wheelchair, FP and Disneyland?

i have read all of the threads I can to try and prepare me for our upcoming DL trip, I think I've read so much I've actually confused myself!

I am a seasoned pro when it comes to wdw but this is my first ever trip to disneyland and I'm feeling totally out of my depth. I have a wheelchair but I will also be getting a DAS card. Am I able to use fastpass along side the DAS card?

I would be ever so grateful if someone could explain really slowly to a complete novice how the DAS card works in DL. I've read the pinned post but it's just confusing me I'm starting to get my knickers in a right twist about this trip

You can use FP as well. It's still the old paper FP.

The DAS works generally the same. The big difference is that it's electronically attached to your tickets, so you'll take all tickets to a kiosk to get a return time. You don't go to the ride.

If I believe correctly if you have a wheelchair then you wont get a DAS.. they are more for hidden disabilities , and your wheelchair is a given of a need for an alternate entry etc.. .

I've thought of another question... I was planning to get a fastpass for world of colour for our first day, is is worth it being in a wheelchair or will they direct me somewhere else?

It will depend on the ride.. as to which line you will take.. in C/A most lines are ADA compliant so you will use reg lines.. or fastpass lines.. if on rides like RSR you will use either line and then break off near the loading zone to the wheelchair loading area.. they will take a car from the track, bring it into a little cove, load you at your pace.. and then put you back into the ride.. its a wonderful system.. the silly swings has an elevator, TSM is a crazy one.. as there is no f/p , I used to be able to just use the exit , but got told once to use the reg line.. I had the GAC at the time. with the pass stating I could avoid lines and no stairs.. but the cast member didnt care and told me the only way I was going to get on the ride was to wait in line like everyone else... so I did.. and when we got to the ride he made me get on at the reg boarding area , again I told him I needed the wheelchair entrance (cant do stairs ) he said I remember you , get on here or dont get on at all,, so I did., when the ride was over and we got off,, the cast member was gone of course.. and so couldnt see them shut the whole ride down and escort me over the tracts to get me off the ride.. I use a cane , had teh CAS (was called that at the time) and he still didnt give a crap.. Im thinking a wheelchair would be more of a visual to him. anyway I digress .. over in D/L things are a little different. in F/L you will mostly use the exits as they are not ADA compliant as they are so old... IJTD you will go in through the f/p line and up an elevator.. S/M will be a separate line near the exit.. POTC is exit .. Autotopia reg or f/p line until turnstiles then you will branch off and use an elevator.. jungle cruise is exit .. H/M is a break off line to the right . Splash Mountain is the exit line.. ITASW is to the left ,
The Disney Railroad has a ramp to get you on the train.. but you cant get to the station at the main gate.. you will need to go to one of the other stations for boarding..

Depending on the time the cast members may give you a return time.. hope you have a great trip..

In DL I don't think any of the FP queues are accessible. Maybe Roger Rabbit. Most rides give wheelchair return times, in which case I don't see how having an FP would help. They give the return times because their waiting areas and the rides can only accommodate so many people at a time. They scan your tickets for wheelchair and DAS return times, so you can't double dip. Wheelchair returns are at the ride, DAS at the kiosk. If you get a DAS return for POTC, then decide to ride Jungle Cruise, if JC isn't doing wheelchair return times and let's you line up, that's fine. If they're scanning tickets and issuing returns, you'd have to wait and do POTC first. And to be honest, I'm not even sure how it would work having a DAS return on a ride like POTC where the return line is always long so they try to stagger wheelchair returns.

In DCA more lines are accessible, so wheelchairs can enter through FP and standard queues.
