DAS Return Times

Does the person who the DAS is issued to need to be present at the attractions in order to get a return time? If we're running all over the parks to get return times my DH will be needing a ECV next trip and he was trying to avoid renting one. Thanks

No. They do not need to be present at the attraction to get the return time. Another person can take the DAS to the attraction/kiosk to get the time. However, the person who is listed on the DAS must ride the attraction in order for the return time to be used. (If they decide they don't want to go on, the rest of the party is not allowed to use the return time.)

DAS is for the use of the person it was issued to and can't be used for attractions they will not be going on/experiencing
Guest using a DAS will get a Return Time for the attraction they want to visit, based on the current wait time
Return times will be for the current wait time minus 10-15 minutes.
At WDW, guests go the the attraction to obtain a return time
- kiosk or podium at Fastpass + area
the DAS holder (person whose name and picture is on the DAS does NOT have to be present to obtain a return time.
- would allow another member of the group to get a Return Time while the DAS holder is resting or doing something else.
- would allow the DAS holder to not approach the attraction until they will actually get in line

Thank you for your summation of the DAS. However you mentioned WDW specifically. Is this the same procedure at Disneyland? We will be going in June and using the DAS for the first time (previously used the GAC). Thanks!

DL is basically the same, except for where you get DAS Return Times.

At WDW, it is at attractions. At DL, there are kiosks scattered around the parks. You can get a DAS Return Time for any attraction at any of the kiosks.

I wonder why WDW doesn't do this too? It would end a lot of the complaining by families that have children who can't handle being near the ride but not riding it, but don't have an extra adult to get the DAS signed.

There are advantages and drawbacks to both. Many people with mobility issues have said they find it too difficult to keep going to the kiosks.

There are people complaining either way.
Some of the ones using kiosks don't like that way. Some of the ones going to the attractions to get Return Times would rather have kiosks.

I don't know for sure, but think WDW has the 'go to the attraction' as an interim method and may do something else once Fastpass Plus is totally rolled out and settled a little more.
