DAS Registration at DL?

I'm reading about the wait times for vitural, pre-DAS registration and it doesn't sound like fun. I'm wondering if it's really worth devoting several hours to waiting for a video call, or if it's just as easy to register in-person at City Hall? We're flying into Orange County on a Saturday morning and likely won't actually be in DL until at least 10:30. I'm guessing that the lines at City Hall will have died down by then and it wouldn't take long to get a DAS for my son? Anyone have experience doing this?

You don't have to register at City Hall. You can apply for DAS at Chamber of Commerce in DCA or at any of the Information Kiosks (look for the umbrellas and CMs wearing plaid) in either park. The lines are usually short (if not, go find another Kiosk) and the process is usually quick.

Thanks. I didn't know I could register at a kiosk. That sounds like the quickest/easiest option.

I called yesterday at 12:16. It said there would be at least a three hour wait but somebody came on about 20 minutes later.

I have tried the Pre-Registration for the past three days with no luck. I got a message that said in excess of a 5 hour wait. Each day I logged on at 7pm EST. Granted I am on the East Coast so when the chat auto reply says agents are there 8a-8p PST that means 11a-11p for me. I'm wondering if there's any difference if I try this when the agents first come on at 8am PST/11am EST. Currently I just feel like I'm wasting my time.

If you can, you want to try to log on RIGHT when they start operating, the earliest possible

This has been updated that you no longer apply IN the parks. There is a designated ticket booth in the esplanade where you apply for DAS. And you can do it put one day before your first park day.

Even logging on first thing in morning, the chat message said it was 3 hour wait…I was on in about 30 minutes so hang in there…better than waiting in line for an hour at the park IMHO. At least I can shop online while waiting at home .😊

There's a booth in the esplanade near the DCA entrances where you apply in-person for DAS these days. The options in the park are no longer listed on the website.

I appreciate this post. I have been trying for a number of days to get a virtual call, but no luck.
I'm outside of the US and on the east coast, so I'm not sure if this makes a difference. I have tried about 9 times and 3 of those times, I was online for over 7 hours before I finally gave up.
It's good to know that there is an option outside of the parks. We arrive in Anaheim the day before our first park reservation, so we'll just head over on the day of our arrival to get the DAS situation sorted out.
Thanks to OP for posting this question.

Any reports on how long it's taking in person recently? Have given up a couple times after waiting on hold for so long for my daughter.

Correct. The first 5 posts of this thread are from April 7th — two days before the DAS changes were announced. Someone resurrected the thread this morning to ask another question.

I may have missed this somewhere, but does anyone know if you are guaranteed to be able to speak to someone if you call before 8pm? Or do they cut you off if you haven't gotten to a CM by then?

Unfortunately there are reports of folks getting a message something to the effect of “try again tomorrow.”
