Hello,

I'm going to WDW in a few weeks with my husband and autistic son. We have obtained a GAC/DAS for my son in the past. Last time we were there, the DAS was new and he received a card that he got signed for attraction return times. We have not been there since the DAS was linked to the MagicBand.

In the past, we were asked how many people were in our party (always just the 3 of us) and it was written on the card. This trip we will have 2 FL relatives join us for 1 day in the Magic Kingdom (mid-trip). Will the 2 relatives be able to join us on rides when my son uses his DAS? Should I tell guest services 5 people instead of 3 when getting the DAS initially (the relatives will not be with us on day 1)? Do all guests in a party need to be present and MagicBand's scanned when getting the DAS initially?

If we are unable to get the DAS for 5 people (or unable to add the 2 additional people for that one day), would my son be able to take the 2 relatives on attractions (instead of my husband and I) if their MagicBands or admission tickets are not linked to our reservation?

Thanks in advance for any assistance you guys can offer! It has always only been the 3 of us and we have no experience with a non-card DAS.

Christine

You can't add them the first day if they are not there but you can easily modify it on the day they are with you by stopping by guest relations. Yes, all bands or tickets will need to be scanned initially. No, your son can't take the other relatives on attractions unless you give them your bands. Honestly, it's easy to modify the day to add extra people day of. Just do that.

You'll have no problem with the number you want. With the new DAS you take everyone's admission item (so magicband or park ticket) to Guest Relations when you get the DAS. They will link them to your son's DAS. Since your family is joining you mid trip I believe you'll have ot stop by GR and just let them know you are adding 2 people onto the DAS and have those people's admission ticket or MB. I believe the top is 6 including the DAS holder so you are just right. They will usually go up to 8 if it is family so don't worry. It shouldn't take too long to renew or add people.

If they aren't linked they would have to take someones MB who is linked to the DAS in order to get in line with your son.
