DAS Advance Selections are separate from DAS Return Times. You don’t need to use them before getting or using DAS Return Times.

You would need to reconnect to the planning chat to change the times. If they only offered you afternoon times, there may not be any morning times left. I have a conflict with one of my preselected reservations (I forgot that we had a Capture Your Moment photo session scheduled). My travel agent asked about rescheduling my DAS time to ride the attraction. She was told that I could stop at any guest relations when we get there and they could help me.
You can just chat back with them and change the advance selection times, as long as it’s 2 days in advance. I‘ve read other people have had the same experience - the DAS Advance Selections were able to be possibly changed, but all changes had to be made no later than 2 days in advance. In order to make a change, the DAS Advance Selection needed to be cancelled with no guarantee that the day, time or attraction the person wanted would be available.A friend of mine reported that she stopped by a blue umbrella and a CM made modifications to some pre-selections for her. But only for ones that were at least two days in advance, just like the online requirement.
Interesting, I wonder if theybare trying to do this to spread out DAS returns a bit and possibly adjust the number of Genie+ returns available at any given time. Once within the 2 day window, the DAS Advance Selections are set and can’t be changed/modified.
That is the reason I have heard for the 2 day ‘freeze’
