Our group of 10: Mom, dad, 3 disabled children (2,6,7), grandma, grandpa, and 3 adult aunties.

How would we do this? Get 2 DAS and split the adults between the kids? Has anyone had experience with this type of group?

Our kids have qualified for DAS in the past and I have no doubt they will now. Extreme dysregulation, including bolting, due to sensory overstimulation (visual-crowds, auditory-music, crowds, ugh just so many sounds you don’t even notice until you have a disabled kid with you!), touch-people too close, crowding). Also anxiety for one of my kids.

We’ve had DAS and stroller concurrently before. But we ran into an issue where they only issued the red tag for one day not our whole stay. I simply couldn’t wait in the city hall line daily with my kids to get it.

This is for Disneyland. I read in the main post that we get the actual DAS at a kiosk? I’ve always gone to city hall. Should I avoid that? Can I only get the red stroller tag at city hall?

Even with DAS we average 6 hours and 6 rides a day over 5 days. Maybe less now that we have the baby. Lol

I think your idea of splitting up the DAS is the way to go with a group as big as yours
Just curious as my friend is in a similar situation...are you saying that their large party would not be able to ride together? Honestly, I'm not sure exactly how DAS works, but my friend knows I'm a Disney freak and she's a normal person lol, so is asking me about DAS. - Her ds and dad I believe would both qualify, but they have an extended family trip with 11 ppl. total going. The rides that her ds and dad can ride; they obviously would like to all do together, but wondering if/how that's possible. I think I had read that only immediate (parents/kids) can get DAS??? Thanks for any info.

The DAS is the Das holder + 5 any more then that is pixi dust 11 would be a lot

DAS is usually only issued for up to 6 total guests (the DAS-holder + 5 others in their party). No “relationship” requirement, unless looking for an exception — say a family of 8 with 2 parents and 6 kids might be allowed an exception. Parents + kids + grandparents + aunts/uncles/cousins = no exception.

When we travelled in large groups (10-14 people) on some early trips we tried to stay together but found that we weren't together in many ride vehicles so it seemed like a waste of organizational energy most of the time. We'd either get half in one loading and the others had to wait for the next load, or we'd try to stand aside and wait and that caused a lot of trouble as we took up too much space at the loading area. So we started splitting up more and more and finally we ended up just meeting up for meals and shows.

Ok, I'll let them know...thank you. While we've been to Disney countless times; I don't have any experience in this department :)
The first post of this thread explains DAS at WDW. Just the first post, you can ignore the old discussion that followed. And that first post has been kept updated over the years.

I was at Disney World this summer with a party of 9 including two DAS people. The first DAS person was allowed to put everyone in the group on their pass except the other DAS person. The same with the 2nd DAS person, everyone but the 1st DAS person. HOWEVER, the cast member at Guest Services clearly and carefully explained that only the DAS person and 5 of the others would be put on the return time. So when we set up rides we divided up who would be with which DAS person and entered the return line as two groups.

We won’t be splitting up our group! I feel like all of us have gone together before minus the baby. But I don’t recall what we did. Maybe just some of us went on certain rides? Maybe we’ve taken one or two aunties at a time only. I don’t know. We’ve gone for 2 adoption parties then 3 other trips at least. I don’t think all of us went every trip. We’ve always used DAS for the kids though.

ETA: The extended family will likely be in the parks more than the rest of us. But when my kids are in the parks we will be a big group. We need all the help we can get. 🤦‍♀️ It was by day 4 of our last trip that I was wondering why we keep bringing them back. 🙃

Thank you so much for this info. 💕💕 We don’t know if there will be times one or more of us will be with the baby in the hotel, etc. It will be very helpful for all of us to be on both DAS. We can handle splitting the group for the line though!!
