DAS changes coming WDW May 20/ DL June 18, 2024

Genuine question - a screenshot alleging to be from the WDW cast training has been shared in a Facebook group. Can this be shared here? It expressly lists that autism spectrum is the only thing they will consider, and lists conditions that do not qualify.

Hesitant to share as it also states the qualifier for autism spectrum which I realise would fall within the ‘script’ ban here, however I think it ruling out a number of conditions is useful when many of us have still been unsure if we’d qualify? Happy to black out the autism qualifier if that would help or send a screenshot to a mod.
Seeing as people who don't have autism have been approved, and some with autism haven't been approved, I doubt the veracity of the screenshot.

And IMO, it definitely shouldn't be here, but I'm not a mod.

Who is alleging they have this info and how did they get it? I feel like anyone could just make up a diagram or something too… I mean I want to see it now, but yeah I’d wait until a mod says if it’s ok or not. I’m just curious!
The mods of a closed fb group posted it allegedly from a WDW cast member. The post seems to have disappeared now which makes me more suspect.

It's been pulled now.. IMO it's faked by one of members on that board to keep stirring them up into frenzies. Some of this post are so.....If find the way they warped the girls story who is all over the news... just....

I understand having a disability but it's not just disability in some of the posts, its a send I am owed this because I spend money here. Then the anger at the kids and people who dare to tell them they got accepted...

Please ,do not take this as me saying anything about the harshness and reality of any disability mental or physical, but we all have our crosses to bear. Some just do it with more grace than others. I hope I did not break any rules.
Yeah that is what I was wondering too, if someone would fake it in that group. If it’s the group I used to be a part of, people were very over the top entitled and finding ways to lie so they could keep getting what they “deserved”.

My issue with he snapshot is that it can't be so cut and dry like that. What is written doesn't even make sense.

When it comes to kids and autism, ADHD and it can seem like the same thing when they are young if their autism is a level 1 or 2. The overlap is huge. and most kids who have ADHD have autism tendencies without being full blown autistic. The CM deciding can't possible understand the diffence in the tiny time they have. They also almost always have some anxiety and sensory issues.

That is why it is not the diagnoses, but the symptoms.

I won't lie, again..not to take anything away from anyone, But many of these post talk about crippling body pain, back pain and panic attacks, bathroom issues that they cant stand for more than 15 minutes in any cue. Pirates and small world can be longer..Makes me wonder how you do the stretching room or any of the dark rides And what about Peter Pan at the end when it hits that curb just right and jars you to your teeth or when all the boats hit at pirates and its a small world... those hurt for me an I have not back or body issues. Or Indy.. My daughter can't do Indy no matter what. Th invisible spears with the whooshing sounds is too much for sensory issues.

Again no disrespect,,just an honest question that can't be asked there without being call an ableist.

Ty for the update. Glad G+ worked and you able to modify your touring plans for that. Did you find it better style vs the morning even though you rope dropped for rise.....what rides did you do a hs before brunch?

Amazing to see how different the posted waitntimes are compared to real life times.

Curious, with aqr in place as a ubiquitous accommodation, cms theoretically can enforce folk NOT pushing through the line to meet their party. It would be great to have less of that overall....and very common issue at dlr
Yes, it was better than morning for sure. All we accomplished was Star Tours besides a visit to Starbucks and a couple pictures!

In theory, CMs should be able to stop the line- pushers. But there were no CMs to be seen until the pre-show.

It was an obvious “part of the party did one ride/something else while the rest waited”- and they just assumed they’d be let through hundreds of people. I’m all for letting people who need to get out/rejoin their party. This was NOT that. And it was 2 groups within about 5 minutes of each other. MANY people were annoyed and the larger group in front of us refused and cut them off. Ultimately it makes it look bad/causes issues when people who truly do need it utilize it! Hopefully the RTQ can help mitigate that…

Experiences I've heard about had the person who was returning going through LL to meet their party...if that's the case, no need for anyone to push through the lines.

And I agree with your theory on what was happening with those two groups - obviously not disability related, and the CMs ought to be doing something to address it.

Also want to add that AK went better today with rope drop. FOP was long but constantly moved. Same with NRR. We only wanted those 2 and EE- which went down for a medical emergency as we were in line. Same observation on the actual queues, though. NRR had a couple that needed to exit, and the guests near us helped point out the empty queue lanes to follow back out. FOP indoors there was no one until the pre-show. Same with EE.

Exactly. And I believe meet the party at the LL merge is the best course of action. The other way causes needless conflict.

So weird update: The mods are blaming another website and then saying it is from a source who won't confirm it because of privacy reasons. They believe it to be real because it confirms "help for the cause" ,why they all can't get DAS now. And they can now use it against Disney( doubt Disney is this stupid or their lawyers) Then the mod explains it is somehow a mix of what was on the website and the screenshot from the CM??

They are asking current or former CM's to try and verify. But it is no longer CM's doing this but a whole different dept. Not guest relations, so how would former be able to do it? It supposedly from WDW who have no presence at the park and are only done through zoom.

Sounds very suspect from beginning to end.... If you have confirmed your source and trust them, what does it matter if it's exactly like another website? How can the source be credible but not credible because of privacy issues?

it seems a case of bias confirmation. IMO

Sounds like it's a moot point now if it's been pulled, but no we do not want something posted that cannot be verified. I do question how true it really is since again, diagnoses are not qualifiers, but instead needs.

But it is no longer CM's doing this but a whole different dept.
They are CMs, but not Guest Relations. It's a new team (the Accessibility Team), some of whom may have previously been Guest Relations or any other department, and some who may be new hires.

Thanks for the info and correction. I thought they were all new.

My Cm said for DL said she was partt of who new group they had just hired. And she was now in a call center. Before they were at home, with like blank back walls or sheets covering the wall.,but quiet and obviously not a call center. This time I could see and hear many others sharing desks around her and even hear their conversations.

I've seen the post too....

I saw this too. I really hope it's not true.

Man now I feel left out and just wanna see it to know what they are referencing - FOMO over here 🤣🤣🤣

Yeah I feel like CMs wouldn’t be dumb enough to share any info as they would lose their job. Normally people have to sign confidentiality agreements not to share certain documents from their job with the outside. Sounds like you are right, they want it to be true so are now treating it as if it is true regardless. Did they put the post back up?

Not yet.. but the wording from the mod makes it feel like they are working on a. way to do it. The need it to keep the group going.

They are "eat their own " over there. There is no rational discussion, just a bitterness, revenge party in the making. Anything that says something bad about Disney is believed and anything that goes against their desire result of getting "DAS back for everything" is treating the anyone with a disability like dirt.

The thing is the qualifier wasn't the"Has to know what a line is." it was something more confusing. And according to the screenshot was to be asked if the symptoms didn't match autism,

It was just stated ONLy autism. Nothing with mobility like before (which everyone over there swears was never the case). NO other mental issues like ADHD,, PTSD or anxiety. No IBS, physical or stomach issues. AND makes big deal of saying no cancer, which was especially weird, I thought .

I don't believe it was real in any way. Too black and white. Too neat as the cop shows say.

And If like they also keep posting, it's random and up to the CM you get and nothing else, what is the point of it anyways?

My kiddo has multiple diagnoses. I explained the symptoms and need. Never mentioned any diagnoses. Was approved in about ten minutes. Have been doing this for years and really the only difference was the questions about school accommodations and that is was obviously on a call center now.

Yeah that group is pretty toxic. I got kicked out because I disagreed that everyone with any disability should have DAS and gave an opinion why I didn’t think medical documentation was the solution. I was nice, didn’t argue, just stated an opinion and was called an ableist, told I must not have a disability, and banned 🙄. This thread is a much nicer place to have actual discussions.

And you are right, if the CMs aren’t even asking about a diagnosis that picture makes no sense. As you say, a kid with ADHD will have a lot of crossover symptoms so how would they know?

The screenshot has been floating around since before WDW went live.

The reality is even with all the raging, the DAS is not going back to accepting everything like it did before. As long s the third party is control I think it will be tighter reign. It might loosen a little , but I don't think Disney will go back to the free for all.

Most in that group encourage each other to keep calling multiple times after being denied, to threaten the CM and demand their info, to record the denial convo's to show the public. They all keep calling back over and over, getting angrier and angrier every time they are denied for the same issues. Every CM is mean and cold and won't listen. According to them Disney is now keeping tabs on them in the parks and denying them because they are pass holders, and all it want's is them to pay for genie plus.

Even the girl from the viral video is more upset about having to pay for genie multiple times a week with her friends and thinks Disney should offer it to pass holders, then she is about the supposed denial of her DAS. They are not even honest about that video. the public sentiment is not with them outside of that Facebook page.

It all a little too much drama for the hell of drama. I worry about D23 and hat they are planning.

Pretty sure I just saw the screenshot on twitter. The poster tagged a bunch of news places on the post…. Pretty sure that is not legit. But again, some people will believe what they want if it helps their way of thinking and to get what they want.
