Hi we will be attempting to get 2 DAS cards for our party (7 on day 1 and 9 on the other 5 days.)

I realise that the party will need to be split onto 2 groups (planing the 4 teens on 1 and the 3 and 2 children on the other) . My problem is that 2 members will not be there the 1st day. Can we get all on the cards on day one or do we have to go back to guest services on day to to add the 2 extra people to one of the cards.

Just to clarify the situation, you will be requesting one DAS, correct? The first day you will need it to cover a party of 7, and on other days, you need to cover a party of 9. Is this correct?

To clarify, are there two different people in your party that are in need of the DAS?

When obtaining 2 cards, your party will be split between the two cards. However, outside of the DAS holder, the remainder of your party is not "assigned" to a card. With the party of 9, you could have the DAS holder plus 3 additional guests on one card and the other DAS holder plus 4 additional guests on the other card. But there's nothing that says the non-disabled teens are only on the card with the DAS holder who is a teen. (I hope that makes sense.)

The general rule is that all members of the party must be there when the DAS is obtained if you wish to have a party of more than 6 on the DAS card. With 2 disabled individuals, as long as they each qualify for the DAS, you could approach it as two separate groups. One parent goes with the first disabled individual and gets a DAS for them with a party of 5 listed (DAS holder + 4 additional). Another parents takes the second disabled individual and requests a DAS for a party of 4 (DAS holder + 3 individuals). Since each of these groups is under 6 people, not everyone would have to be present that first day.

If there is only one person in your party who will qualify for the DAS, then you will only get one DAS card and everyone in your party will have to be present. On the first day, everyone goes to GS together and requests the DAS for a party of 7. Then on the second day, when the additional 2 people are present, return to GS with the DAS card reissued the day before and all 9 people in your party. The DAS can then be issued for a party of 9.

Your post is a little confusing, as it sounds like you plan to get multiple DAS cards to cover your full party.

Unless you have multiple people with disabilities who qualify for DAS -- your party will only be issued one card. It will be issued on the first day for the number of people in your party that day -- if that exceeds 6 in total, it will require supervisor approval and everyone must be present. If more people are joining you the next day, you will need to return to Guest Relations to ask about having the party-size adjusted, again anything over 6 will require supervisor approval and all members of your party should be present. You will not be issued multiple DAS cards simply for a large party.

Enjoy your vacation!

sorry I wasn't clear - 1das will be for myself and the other for my 21yr old.

I was hoping that we wont have to go back on the 2nd day to add the extra 2 people to one of the cards (this will be the 2 children that I will be adding to my card - as my nephews are only coming for part of the trip, their parents are not coming into the parks as they will stay at the villa with their baby). The 4 teens/young adults will be on my dd card right from the start.

You should be fine to get the cards for the entire group the first day.

Your 21yo DD can go by herself to request her DAS and tell them a total party size of 4. You can go and request the DAS for yourself and tell them a total party size of 5. Since both parties are under 6, not everyone has to be there.
