DAS at parade?

Hi, can anyone tell me if the disabled area for parades is still utilized or has that ended with the new DAS? I have two Autistic sons and parades had been an issue until we were told they could stand in the handicapped area which was a blessing. We don't do parades often but they do want to see the new MK parade so any help would be appreciated. Also, I realize there is a FP+ for the parade as well but if I'm unable to get it I'd like to know what my options are. Thanks very much.

I would like to know this as well! I booked one of my FPs for the new MK parade, but would be just as happy if we could watch from the old viewing area for people with disabilities.

1) The wheelchair parade areas are really not that big.
2) They fill up FAST, FAST, FAST.
3) You need to be there about 30-45 minutes prior to the parade to get a spot.
4) And, the spot/space may be behind others, so view might be an issue.
5) You need to judge if this will fit with your child's issues.

Thank you very much for the information. We generally get there very early and we have no problem standing behind those in wheel chairs. We use this area primarily to escape the usual parade issues which can be stressful. We've had a lot of luck here in the past so we'll give it another try this summer. Thanks again!

I thought that seating area was for people who used wheelchairs, scooters etc because they are in a sitting down position which means they wouldn't be able to see if people are standing up in front of them.

If standing people are in the handicapped viewing areas, they would be behind the seated guests.

Wheelchairs, ECVs and strollers being used as wheelchairs are usually lined up across the front of the space, nearly touching. Other guests are behind them.

Which could be an issue for OP.

They said they have no problem standing behind people in wheelchairs. But their families stand right behind them. So OP would be behind the standing families of the guests in wheelchairs. Unless they found a solo guest, or a pair of guests both in WC with no other family, which does happen.

We just did the FP+ for the MK 3:00 parade last week. Large area, and we did not get there super early. Maybe 1/2 hour, and we were in front of the castle, across the street.
