DAS and Rider Swap

It just occurred to me that our next trip will be the first time we'll be using both the DAS and Rider Swap (well, actually the first time for the DAS at all, as previous trips were with the GAC).

Can anyone explain how it works? The child needing the DAS would be riding (there is a second child who is too small). Do we show up at the time on the DAS, have the first adult (and kids) ride and get a rider swap card for the second adult (who will be waiting out the ride with the wee one)? Can we combine DAS and Rider Swap? Or does one adult have to miss out?

You have the process right. It will also work the same way if you use FP+ or go in the standby line. They need to see the child that is not riding so you approach the line entrance as a group. As a heads up, some of the CM's can be a little stern when telling you the little one can't ride if you haven't asked for the pass in the first millisecond they see you. It is nothing personal so brush it off, it's because people try to sneak teeny kids on all day long and they are looking out for your child.

Basically, it works the way you think it does and does not really work any differently whether doing it with DAS, Fastpass or Standby line.

You come at the DAS Return Time with your whole group and say that you want to do Rider Switch. You will get a Rider Switch card.
The first group to ride will go on while one person waits with the ‘too small’ children (or who don’t want to ride).
The person who stayed with the smaller children will get a chance to ride after the first group finishes.
Here is a link to the Disney website page that explains it.

Also, be aware that not all attractions offer Rider Switch; it is basically the ones with height requirements. The Disney webpage has a link to the list of attractions offering it.

Thanks! I'm good with Rider Swap in general (used it before), I just wasn't sure how it would work if we were also using a DAS card. Sounds like it works just the same (which is good, my poor brain can only handle so much).

Thanks.
