I know there are not FPs for MNSSHP, but was wondering how or if the DAS is being considered during the party. Is a person allowed to use it like they would at any other time (Stand-by time - 10mins)? I'm just trying to prepare my son for what we might encounter. Thanks in advance!:wave2:

Most of what I've read from other posters indicates that the DAS is not being utilized during MNSSHP because FP/FP+ is not in effect -- therefore the "alternate entrance" is not available. I believe GAC was not effective during the parties in the past, so it's not surprising the DAS isn't used now.

There may be changes regarding DAS in coming weeks, so keep watching posts...but I don't think I've seen anyone indicate they used DAS during the party and best to plan that it won't be.

Enjoy your vacation!

They did not use GACs during the parties before, so I would plan not to have it available.

One person posted she had called and been told it would be in use, but when she actually got to the party it was not used.

Thank you for your responses. My son (Adult/ autism) will be able to adapt, if I can give him enough notice and support for what to expect. Thanks again!

We used the GAC at both the Christmas (2012) and Halloween (2013) parties. Granted both times we only rode like two rides but nobody told us it wasn't in use and we use it. If the DAS is an accommodation for a disability how can they say they are not accommodating disabilities during parties?

We also used the GAC at Halloween parties in the past, as recently as last year. Like you, we only used it for a couple of attractions, so it's possible we may have just encountered a few CM's who didn't know the policy.

. . . If the DAS is an accommodation for a disability how can they say they are not accommodating disabilities during parties?

1) DAS is NOT an "accomodation" for the handicap.
2) GAC was not intended to be one either, but grew bigger/wider.
3) Revised DAS allows ACCESS to attractions, that is all the law requires.

Sorry do not understand this at all?
Surely Access is still needed at party's? The need for the access as you put it does not change just because its a hard ticket event!

Right? If it allows ACCESS as required by law, how can it be that it is sometimes not available? To me that doesn't make sense. I'm confused. Are you saying that those with disabilities don't have ACCESS to the parties? The parties are for those with no disability? I think you have mentioned in other posts being employed by Disney World. Is that the general view of Disney World or is it a personal opinion?

Sorry the word accommodation offends you. It certainly was not intended. Here I used it to mean the manner in which ACCESS if provided. So, if you prefer simply read the post as ACCESS (why the caps ?). I'll rewrite - "If the DAS allows ACCESS for the disabled, how can they say they are not allowing ACCESS for the disabled during parties?" Meaning are Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party and Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party exempt from the law? Do you know what creates that exemption?

The DAS is for those who cannot tolerate waiting in the queue line for extended times. If the wait time is less than 15 minutes you are often not given a return time. In most cases the waits will not be this long during the party.

If you did encounter a wait longer than that you could speak to the CM at the ride to see what they suggest. However they may say it os not possible for you to enter. If you really feel that you cannot wait in the posted time I would ask to speak with a coordinator or manager.

My understanding was that at the parties, if accommodation was needed, it was given at the attraction, in the way that Wishes Count explained.

So, it's not that no accommodation is given, it's that most waits are short, and Fastpass is not in use, so they don't has sending people thru that line as an option.
