We are a family of 6, two with mobility issues. We intend to get a DAS for both, since there may be rides I don't want to go on. Should we get Magic Bands for FP+ also? We are staying offsite, and don't want to spend $12.95 x 6 if not needed.
Also can someone confirm that at WDW, we have to use kiosks to get return times, not at each ride? That's a lot of extra walking. I'm thinking I might need a scooter :-( I was hoping to go without one.
Another unrelated question, but haven't found the answer. Does every person in your party need a Magic Band? I'm still confused on this. It stinks that offsite guests have to pay and have no choice of colors.

You don't need MagicBands to use FP+, it should work with your RFID ticket cards just as well. Just link your tickets in MDE and all should be fine.

For the DAS, return times are assigned at the rides. For FP+, you can use the mobile app for your first 3 if you want, but AFAIK, the kiosks are required to make any past that. (I believe they can be modified on the app though.)

If their only issue is mobility they won't give them a DAS because the standby lines are accessible.

I like magic bands and you will need one for each person in your party. You can always give it a try without and then buy them at the stores with the signs that say they sell them.

The link above will take you to a thread that has tons of info about the DAS.

The DAS is not for mobility issues - since the vast majority of lines are wheelchair accessible, you will be expected to use a wheelchair or ECV for mobility issues.

DAS return times are issued at the rides at WDW, not at kiosks, but again, if your only issues are mobility related, you most likely will not receive one.

Magic Bands are not required for FP+ - you can use your regular ticket.

You most likely do not qualify for DAS.... Mobility issues are not eligible for a DAS. What else do you need help with? There are other things we can suggest to make the days easier if we know what you need (touring plans, resting at first aid stations etc)

I was afraid of that, not qualifying for a DAS. :-( I was always able to get the GAC. I can walk ok, but have nerve damage in my left leg, a bad left knee, and post-op on my right foot which makes standing hard. What if I don't WANT to use a wheelchair?? People look at you like what's wrong with YOU?? And sometimes there aren't any wheelchairs available at the entrance. I will most likely be ok using FP+, but for the occasions when I can't I would rather have a second option. I have no problem getting a return time and chilling out on a bench nearby waiting. It's the standing that I can't do. Even for 10 minutes. What would solve my problem is benches all along the que lines!! :-) Lol!!!

Even with the DAS you won't be guaranteed to not wait 10 minutes. You come back and get into the FP line and often they are over 10 minutes.

Even during the high crowd time I have never heard of them running out of manual wheelchairs.

Also even during slow time we have waited more then 10 mins in fast pass line.

Have you thought about a rollator like the one in the link where you could sit in line? http://www.walgreens.com/store/c/dr...-pad-seat,-6in-casters/ID=prod6003561-product

Disney has to provide access. By making most of their lines wheelchair and ecv accessible they have done what the law requires. They don't have to provide you with your preferred accommodation just one that is reasonable under the law. Who cares what strangers think. Are you ever going to run into them again I your life, probably not. If you don't want a wheelchair look at an ecv so you can have independence and not rely on someone to push you.

You can push the wheelchair when not using it, but it will be there for you to rest in when you need it.

And I agree with the PP, who cares what people think?

Thanks everyone! I like the rollator thing. I was actually looking at that in Walgreen's!! That would be perfect, a seat anywhere I go. And no one would have to push me. I would love to use an ECV but would hate the hassle of traveling with it. The ones you rent at the parks are behemoths and expensive. I think I will definitely have to consider that rollator or an off-site rental for an ECV. Thanks for the advice :-)

We had not seen any rollators at WDW up until about 5 years ago.
Now, we see multiple people using them each time we go to a park.
So, you won't be the only one using one. I
