DAS advance selection question

can you only make advance bookings while you are online with the person signing you up?
I have read these cant be changed, but another person said if you call they will change it, any experience?
The in park reserve attraction, you are given a time to come back . is there a specific time window you need to arrive? ( i know the advance bookings only have 1 hour)

any chance the video chat they offer ASL interpreters?

For video chat, the Disney website say this:

• Video chat is screen reader-friendly for Guests with visual disabilities and available with text chat for Guests with hearing disabilities.

No one has commented on using ASL; if the text chat won’t work for you, you could request an ASL interpreter, but I’m not sure if any of the video chat CMs sign.

The safest thing would be to plan to sign up for the DAS Advance Selections at the same time as your video call to register. If you are allowed to do it at another time, that would mean another call back and possibly a long wait.
People have posted they were able to call back and change. I’m not sure if that is going to be permanent or if they are just doing it now in the start up period. The one thing that is certain is that all DAS Advance Selections must be made no later than 2 days before your park visit.

As you mentioned, the DAS Advance Selections have a one hour window to use.
When you get a DAS Return Time in a park, the app will give you a time to come back. You can return to the attraction any time after that until the park closes for the day. DAS Return Times are valid until until they are used, cancelled, modified or park closure.

This may have been discussed somewhere else, but f you go to the DAS page on the WDW site, there are two links highlighted in blue...one says learn more about registering for DAS and one says learn more about planning with DAS. If you click the link that says learn more about planning with DAS, you will scroll down to a button that says request live chat. Evidently, this takes you to the planning queue that you are sent to by the CM after the video chat when doing your initial planning, so if you need to make changes to your advance passes, you can do it this way. I did this last night at 8pm and was chatting with a CM in 25 minutes and didn't have any of the issues I had when trying to do the initial video chat. I only knew to look for this link because the video chat CM told me it existed, and she said waits aren't as long as when trying to register. I was able to change one of my advance passes to a time I thought would work better for me, but the other one I wanted to adjust didn't have the time available that was offered to me initially (although a much earlier time was offered) so I guess those times do fill up. Because of this, I would do what @SueM in MN suggested and book everything when you do your initial video chat so you'll at least have something. Then if you need to make changes because you realize a certain tine might not work, you may be able to adjust it later. It did seem that there were a couple of times offered to me that weren't offered initially so you might be able to adjust the passes to something that works better.
