I just read on Mouseplanet that the Disney Gallery is going to close in July. We never seem to make it there because of all the little kids, and we're trying to see as many rides as possible. I was looking forward to going to DG in September though, since we won't be bringing kids. Sigh, I guess it could be worse. When we went a few years ago Splash Mountain, Space Mountain and Thunder Mountain were all closed!

it was closed today and yesterday... do you mean closing for good!?

It is closing for good I am going to try and make a trip very soon here just so I can visit it before it closes. I am so going to miss it :(

What/where exactly is Disney Gallery? We'll be there in 2 weeks for a 5 day trip, will we be able to see it?

I too will miss it. Hopefully they do relocate it to the opera house.

The gallery is a showcase of original works by Disney artists located above POTC, if you were to go up the curved staircase.

The Gallery's last day will be July 31. That will also be the last day they offer the Gallery seating for Fantasmic.

A little bummed about this, I always found the Gallery very restfull and away from the masses. Really enjoyed everything displayed.

I know what staircase you're talking about. How long has the Disney Gallery been up there? I never realized you could actually go up into those rooms. It's been 4 years since we've been to DLR.

Dear pineapplewhipaddict:

Thank you for your e-mail to the DISNEYLAND® Resort. We appreciate you
taking the time to share your experience with us.

We are very sorry to learn of your concerns with our operation. We would
like to assure you that our goals for providing a happy and unique
experience in our theme park have remained constant throughout the
years. One of the ways in which we attempt to maintain this goal is to
continually evaluate the various aspects of our operation and make
changes at times. We rely on input from our Guests to help us determine
when we should implement something different.

We apologize for any disappointment as a result of the rumors mentioned
in your letter. In keeping with our philosophy of making the DISNEYLAND®
Resort exciting and ever-changing, we are continually evaluating our
attractions, closing some existing features and developing new
facilities to reflect progress and to maintain the interest of our
visitors. We hope you will agree that our Disney Imagineers have an
outstanding track record with creating exciting attractions that appeal
to visitors of all ages. At this time, we do not have plans to make an
announcement regarding changes the Disney Gallery.

Walt Disney stated, "Disneyland will never be completed as long as there
is imagination left in the world." In that spirit, we will continue to
make additions and changes to the Magic Kingdom, all with the goal in
mind to keep the Disneyland experience new, fresh and exciting. As
diverse as the millions of visitors are who come to the DISNEYLAND®
Resort each year, so are the reactions and opinions that we learn about.
It is always our goal to provide a quality "show" for our Guests. We
hope that you will continue to follow the developments of the
DISNEYLAND® Resort.

Again, thank you for contacting us. Comments such as yours are welcomed
in that they assist us in evaluating our operation and our success in
generating happiness for our Guests. We hope you will have the
opportunity to visit the DISNEYLAND® Resort soon and that our
attractions and entertainment will delight you in every way.

The last few times that we've been there, the gallery has been closed, and the stairs have been roped off.
