I meant to post this last week...I listened to the live show, and having been to two "after dark" special events at WWOHP now (not DISapalooza, unfortunately), I totally agree that it is far too dark to get reasonable pictures without a really good camera and a tripod. None of my pictures of the buildings came out well - I had to adjust them significantly, making them look grainy.

I took more pictures last year than this year, even with a slightly better camera this year, as I could see it was a losing cause. You can see last year's on my facebook page here. This years is at the tail end of this album.

If I go again next year (and it's back at WWOHP), I might actually invest in a DSLR and a tripod.

And as far as getting around in the dark, I tripped a number of times on the outside paths because of the uneven pathwork, especially at the edges. Much easier to deal with in the light. And it wasn't because we had an open bar...nope, not at all. ;)

How often does WWOHP operate normally after dark? It seemed to me like it wasn't often open late, do they may not have put in much lighting for the limited use.

I figured the same thing. Usually IOA is not open that late so the need for lighting after dark is not needed. A comparison would be if you have ever been in Animal Kingdom after dark..not the best(or worst) lighting because it is not needed due to usual operating hours.
