hi everyone...thanks for all you lovely people helping me with my planning so far...you are a wealth of knowledge and i really appreciate it :goodvibes now i just love the park at dark and was wondering what time you think it would get dark in DLP at end of nov? also any idea what time dreams starts at and what time park closes weekdays in nov? also are there any other lighting up castle/tree ceremonies or is it just dreams? xo

it will be dark by 5pm at the end of November.
The park hours for November this year haven't been published yet, but last year midweek they were Studios close at 6pm, main park close at 7pm. So if its the same this year, Dreams will start at just after 7pm.

I don't think anyone knows what kinds of castle/tree lighting stuff will be going on for Christmas season yet.

thanks Elaine...will be lovely to have 2 hours in park in dark!! how long does Dreams last? also, are there any other shows on in nov...mickeys xmas, tarzan etc ? xo

Dreams lasts for around 20 minutes.
I'm pretty sure theres no Mickeys Winter Wonderland show this year, nothing going on in the Chapparal theatre at all.

Tree lighting is planned for this year and according to a fair few cms there will be Castle lighting but only the turrets again like last year. It's wait and see atm

No MWW though

does that mean only the top turrets of the castle will be lit up at night? will the rest of the castle be in darkness? ( prob a stupid question)

Hang on I'll copy you a picture to show you the difference between 2010 and 2011

The main issue is because of Dreams no one knows how they are going to light up the Castle or if they are going to light it.

another stupid question...does the castle not get lit up at night the rest of the year...is it only at xmas?

yes its only at Christmas - they have to put nets of hundreds of thousands of lights over the Castle to get the effect.

wow carrie cat...thanku so much for taking the time to post those...you are a real asset to this board! i can see what you mean about the differences...all beautiful but the one with the netting all over really take your breath away! it will be interesting to see what they do then this xmas! dreams is def on in nov isnt it?

:goodvibes Thank you

Dreams is on every night until the end of March at least so you'll see it on as many days as you are there.

I think whatever they do to it will be wonderful as the castle is looking so beautiful since it was redone be it in day or at night :goodvibes

oh when did the re-do the castle then? just touching up paint etc?

Thanks so much for posting these Carrie :thumbsup2.

I may be in the minority, but I actually like just the turrets done on the second picture...

That with the inclusion of Dreams does it for me ::yes:::love::santa:!

I am getting SO excited.... :goodvibes

PS - Can't wait to ride BTM in the dark again - it truly is amazing seeing the Park all lit up while on it :lovestruc.

Seeing the parks in the dark is one of the things I'm really looking forward to about our late Nov/early Dec trip

The castle looks lovely both ways I think. Possibly not quite AS lovely with just the turrets lit but I'm still looking forward to seeing it :) And the tree lighting.. that's going to be really lovely.

i agree ladies...i love the park after dark and i too cant wait to ride btm in the dark.im hoping my 9 year old daughter will be able to ride it this year too. carrie cat those pics of the castle are incredible what stunningly beautiful colours on the castle and turrets and the contrast between the two :lovestruc

Your DD will be tall enough, it is just if she is brave enough! My 7 and 4 year old girls loved it in June (which took me by surprise tbh). It is their favourite 'grown' up ride now and they talk about it a lot still! I think the record was 6 or 7 rides in one day :rotfl2:. We did have VIP fastpasses though - so that is how we managed so many! They don't know we are going back but I bet when they do, the first ride they'll want to do is BTM and even more so in the dark :hyper:.

BTM in the dark is on my "to do list" for our November trip too!! Last year I was with my MIL who would not ride it but my DD LOVES it!! Really looking
forward to it at night!

The castle looks so pretty lit up at night, and the tree lighting is just magical!!!

But I am REALL EXCITED about seeing Dreams!!!! :hyper: pixiedust:
