Dark Transfer Question

I am using dark iron on transfers to make our tee shirts. From what I understand, when using a dark transfer, everything that is white will show up white on the shirt - correct? (I am using all colored tees - no white.) So if I have a design like the one shown here, you will see all of the white space between the actual picture and the text. Is it best in this case to just trim the design into a rectangle and have the white there? I can't imagine trying to trim around an intricate design like this. Just trying to figure out what will look the best! Thanks.

Yes....all the white will show. That is why some DISers ask for borders or a light background. Since it is my DISign, I could do both or either of these things.

and I personally would use white shirts (and have) for similar DISigns....

Like these!

or one with everything inside the head to make cutting out very easy (although clip art is smaller):

I prefer the larger clip art but that is your call !!

Thanks. That's what I thought - I just wanted to make sure I wasn't over-looking something simple. Most of the designs I am using have a colored background, but a couple don't. Since I've already bought the shirts and printed the transfers, I'll just go with the white background! I'm sure they'll still look great! BTW, I think most of what I'm using are your designs, so thanks for all the hard work you put into them. There were so many great ones it was hard to limit it to just a few.
