I will be going to WDW for the first time in November. I am completely blind in my left eye and very limited vision in my right. I could pretty much get around no problem during the day but at night or in the dark, it is hopeless for me to get around without any help. I know that I can obtain a GAC so I can sit closer to the shows but my question is this: Are there any rides that have have dark queing areas that are very dark and tough to get through? For example, the Indian Jones ride at DL has a very long, dark area that is very difficult for me to get around. I will be traveling with family and I sometimes have them lead me through but often they get distracted and run me into a wall. :rotfl:
Also, are there any shows where the seating area is dark?
I just want to be prepared when I get there as I have no idea what to expect. I have been to DL many times so if you have any comparisons that would be great too. Thanks. :)

There are several attractions where I would consider at least part of the queue to be dim, but not excessively dark. These would include Haunted Mansion, Pirates, MuppetVison as examples.

The queue for Finding Nemo at Epcot is very dim. Also, it seems to fo on...and on...and on...and on....and on...and on...

Read this link for a great article on visually impaired guests. I have the exact same problem - only one eye works and not that well. I would use all tips in the this article and share one of my own. Don't bother with anything 3D - if you only have one eye to work with, you have no depth perception and therefore, you will only see blurry movie!! Gave me a headache. Also, don't know about you, but I am ALWAYS running into people, and therefore don't like crowds. Bought a colapsible (sp?) cane just to let people know that I am not a jerk and they can stay out of my way. Also helps with night vision. Keeps me from having to use my daughter as a "seeing eye daughter". 'Hope this helps!!

In EPCOT the Energy Ride's waiting area can be very dark if you arrive after the lights are dimmed for the movie portion.

Also in EPCOT the new ride entrance into the Seas is dark. We got about 20 feet into the switchback line and asked to be taken in another way. A CM showed us into another line, I think it may have been the exit for the new Turtle Talk? It was better than winding through the dark queue.

In MK Splash Mountain gets very dark. There is an alternative entrance, actually the exit that you can use.

Space Mountain has a very dark entrance. I have no idea if there is another way in there.

Pirates In MK is also very dark, the alternate entrance is better but not great. In fact my father says the entire ride is way to dark for him to enjoy anymore.

Also Peter Pan is very dark once you are on the ride. The queue is not a problem but the entire ride is dark.

Haunted Mansion has an alternative entrance, again the exit. It is a bit dark but then again so it the entire ride.

In MGM the Tower of Terror is dark. We shuffled through it and later were told that we could have asked to enter another way.

The Little Mermaid in MGM has a dim waiting area and the seating area is a bit darker. Asking to be seated first would really help for this show.

In AK A Bug's Life waiting area is a bit dark also.

We also have a family member with one eye. He found some of the 3-D movies worked for him if he sat near the center of the theater and near the front. One of the movies did not work at all but I do not recall which one it was. Sorry. We just figured that the newer ones used a different filming technology.
