Dark Fabric Iron-on Felt?

Has anybody tried putting a dark fabric iron-on on felt? I have done t-shirts but never felt, any input would be helpful.

I have done the letters from Joanne's on felt Mickey Heads for names and they turned out ok. Never done a big design though or a character.
