Dare to be Different?

I have my own style and I could care less about what people say about it.
I do shop at Hollister, American Eagle, etc... but I make it my own. I actully like kinda the bright colored skinny jeans and all that funky stuff I just haven't gotton a chance to wear it.

Oh can't you see I'm just being me
I can't be you and I don't want to be
Don't try to get inside my head
Cause what you see is what you get

I am what I am, I can't help myself
And if you don't like it get with somebody else
I'll never change my ways, it's not a phase
This is how it is right up until my dying day

I'm pretty different.
*I wear t-shirts instead of brand name clothing
*I listen to Country music instead of Rap
*I dance to Puppy Love by Celtic Thunder instead of Soujla Boy
*Rap annoys me (the swearing..the topics)

Love the JB lyrics, nice job! :]

My school has uniforms. - we have a lot of dress down days though..
&& welll... I wear a lot of hollister. and abercrombie.

You shouldn't be embarrassed to wear those clothes!
If you like what you wear, and feel comfortable in it, then that's all that matters :]

I wear jeans, t-shirts, and hoodies all the time. It's just that I don't really care.

Maybe if I had more money I'd buy nice clothes.

I don't have anything against abercrombie or hollister.

Our sense of style is made up by looking at our shoes, bags, belts, hair and make-up (oh and jackets but they're introducing school coats and jackets next september.)
'Chavs' dominate the school so therefore 'chav' brands are the most popular. I think some of the Mckenzie hoodies are nice but so over priced for someone who spends most of their time in riding gear. I hate Lonsdale with a passion though. 'Chavs' are taking over Nike as well but i wear that for sport and stuff anyway. Luckily they seem to be backing off my adidas. xD.

Ahh we already have the school jacket and coat thing, when I joined the school and saw the coat I was just completely, ew. Lol! No word to describe the amount of shock.

If your not "orange" at our school your also classed as "ugly". Stupid damn makeup!

They haven't showed us our coat or jacket but apparently the girls jacket has a high neck and flares out at the bottom. :scared1:
They're also giving us new polo shirts. The girls are fitted to try and stop us wearing belts and tucking the polos in at the front and have no buttons and a high neck line so we can't be revealing:rotfl:

Yup same here. I wear hardly any make-up to school but then i couldn't give a flying monkey what people think, most people get on with me and even the boys with their heads too far up their butts are decent to me.

I just wore what I liked, no matter what brand it was. Who cares if I'm wearing the same shorts as someone else? If I like it, I'll wear it. It's not only "trendy" clothes that can be matchy-matchy at school.

I remember in high school I was wearing a Pretty Girls Make Graves t-shirt and someone was wearing the SAME EXACT t-shirt.

Um, I'll shop anywhere from Neiman Marcus to Crossroads Trading Co. I love thrift and vintage shops as much as I love high end retail stores. I shop at Urban Outfitters cause their clothes are usually really comfy and soft (at least to me). I buy a LOT of band shirts online, as well as I buy a LOT (and I mean a LOT) of disney t-shirts at my work. It's easy cause I can fit into the boys Medium size, so I can fit in all the cool new children's clothes.

I don't usually buy expensive shirts, though. I'm more of a band/disney shirt girl. Or places I've been.

On any given day, though, I'm in jeans, t-shirt, and my vans slip ons.
I had a pair of vans slip ons that I had had since I was 14 years old. They were originally the black and white checkered (this is when they were first available, and pretty much only in black and white and pink and black), and in the end were a medium grey and black. The top of one had been ripped off accidentally, so the checkered part was gone and all that was there was the thin piece of material. They had holes in them all over. They were pERFECT. They were the most comfortable shoes I'd ever worn in my entire life. One night, my mother came into my room and STOLE them and threw them away and replaced them with new ones, and I literally cried hah. I'm still trying to make these shoes just as comfortable (I've had them for about a year now), but it's not working.

Anyway, that was OT, but yes.

thanks guys. im going to start wearing really cute spring outfits. i love forever 21 and H&M lol . i have many outfits from there. thanks guys sooo much you really inspired me :D

i totally try to avoid the "hollywoodbridge" dresscode. I do wear abercrombie and hollister stuff (but I started when I was like 12, and people here discovered it like.. last year? lol) but not the stuff with logos plastered all over them. I shop at H&M, j crew, banana republic, the gap, holts, artitzia (but not for TNA stuff) and make my own stuff too.

Oh but we have a uniform for school.. which people modify to include TNA pants and uggs lol

I must admit that I do shop at "those" stores too. I like Abercrombie for their polos, Hollister for the T-shirts, American Eagle for their sweaters, and then Urban Outfitters is nice for accessories and the like. Nobody around here dresses nice at all. I am like the first person I've seen who wears those cardigan sweaters...

i wear some name brands but nto all name brands i like target! and kolhs

I just buy whatever clothes I like. I don't really look for name brand, just the quality and price. I don't pay tons of money for clothes that I am eventually going to outgrow.

I try to be different with my make-up, hair, and personal style though. Like today I came to school with two braids in the front a bun in the back and a clip of my hair on top. It sound's weird, but it looked really cool. Of course, no one has worn that at my school so I like to do that sort of stuff. :p

Uniforms are definately stupid. At my friend's school, they were told to cross their legs in the exams because of the shortness of the skirts, "things were on show".

See now if we could wear jeans to school, it would stop all the madness! Most of you are very lucky to wear what you like.

Totally. Jeans and a hoodie. That would be nice.
