Dapper Days Crowd Question

We rebooked our May trip to November and I just realized it’s the weekend of Dapper Days. Our plan was to drive in Saturday and hit the parks on Sunday and Monday. How will Dapper Days effect crowds and wait times on Sunday? We can move our dates forward and drive in on Sunday then do parks Monday and Tuesday instead....

I don't think anyone can accurately predict crowds this year at all.

I think the bigger question will be can you get reservations for the dates you want to go.

News from Dapper Days, including the announcement that the November event is still on the calendar:

We're sorry to report our planned June events at the Disneyland Resort are now cancelled due to the resort recently announcing their closure is extending through June. However! In our discussions with Disney we feel there is a good chance we will be able to hold some sort of event at the resort in August (even if the parks are not yet open to full capacity). This would likely include a smaller DAPPER DAY marketplace with a limited number of exhibitors joining us instead of a full Expo with bands and dancing. We are awaiting the release of government guidelines so we can then design an event that can safely operate within those requirements. We hope to have more info at the end of this month regarding any potential Summer events for the Disneyland Resort, as well as the Walt Disney World Resort. Our November events for California, and Florida are still happening as planned and you may book your rooms at the links below. Convention-rate park tickets and Expo passes for November will be available online later this Summer. We have no information regarding potential park opening dates, but we expect when they do reopen, initial admission will be limited in some way as Disneyland did with the opening of "Galaxy's Edge", where Disney hotel guests were given priority...

When I did Nov Dapper Days a few years ago OMG IT WAS PACKED. That Sunday was wall to wall people by afternoon, all I wanted to do was get the heck out of the park and back to my hotel. (Thankfully I did park stuff the surrounding days mostly and was kinda ready for a busy Sunday with lunch & dinner reservations and few rides planned.) It’s a great day for people watching, it’s an awful day for riding rides.

Who knows what it will be this year?

I’ve gone for Dapper Days twice and the Sunday of the event was definitely crowded in the parks, but so fun to see everyone’s awesome clothing! I think with advanced dining reservations and MaxPass it should be fine and still enjoyable. Mondays in the past have been pretty crowded regardless of any events. Wednesday is always my favorite day (Tues/Wed/Thurs being my go to days). But honestly, with the park closures and COVID I think it’s very possible things could be dramatically different when the parks reopen so I’d just pick the dates that work best for you and try not to speculate on crowds too much.

We’ve gone for dapper days the last few years and it wasn’t super crowded on the days up to Sunday, usually we travel back on Sunday itself and don’t see the crowds then. It’s been right between Halloween and Christmas seasons in the past, which I think made it a little less appealing for people because the tree isn’t up yet. But this year will be later into November when normally the decor should be all up, so who can really say. We were really looking forward to going, but will probably cancel.
