how many people in the park dress up for this event...? Will we stick out horribly if we are not dressed up (I would love to, but not sure it will work for us)? Will the park be extremely crowded because of this event?

I'm sure it's as popular as it is in Disneyland, when we went last October (DLR) almost everyone was dressed for Dapper Day. Can't speak for DD crowds at MK, but I assume the park would be pretty crowded.

If almost everyone was dressed up for DD at DL, then it hasn't caught on nearly as much in FL. Guests in normal vacation casual easily outnumber those dressed up at MK. Remember, DL has a much higher percentage of locals and, in particular, local AP holders in their Guest mix.

Our family just happened to be at MK on last years Dapper Day's and I can't begin to tell you what a cool experience it was. We even witnessed the sweetest proposal in front of the castle with a large group of the Dapper Day attendees assisting in the proposal. The atmosphere at Disney seemed to be 10 times as magical. To answer your questions though, there were plenty of people dressed in their Dapper Day apparel but definitely more people in just regular Disney attire. You will notice it but not feel outnumbered!

I'm sure its more popular at Disneyland but at least for the Spring one in MK there were tons of people dressed up,pretty much everywhere you looked you could see dapper outfits.

2 years ago at MK, about half dressed up. Last year at DHS, there were more in regular clothes than those dressed dapper.

I think it may depend on the season, I hear the spring Dapper Day is more people. We went this past fall and it wasn't as many as I thought were going to dress up, except it was also in DHS so I think that caused fewer to go.

Either way you won't stick out, but I highly suggest dressing up! There were big photo ops and specific photographers following the Dapper crowd. It was a ton of fun!

We were at both spring & fall last year and you will NOT be outnumbered, there will be a lot of people dressed up, but there's still a very high number of regular dressed guests.
The most dapper crowds last spring were at the grand floridian where evening drinks were "scheduled"
Also keep in mind that the parks change with the season.
I'm pretty sure spring wdw dapper day this year is Epcot, so crowds wouldn't be impacted much at all.(and they usually aren't)

Crowds with dapper day also usually are not doing your regular rides and such, they'll watch some entertainment, do the scheduled meet ups (which those, will be crowded, one of them last spring was a dapper ride on the people mover and the line was INSANE), and take a bunch of pictures. It shouldn't really effect your day

We were lucky to be in DHS for the Dapper Darlin's kiss the Streets of America goodbye day last weekend. I had never heard of them before, but have now become a big fan. I'd say 5% is a fair estimate.

I would love to dress up on dapper day.... But we were planning on doing just an early morning/ half day at the park... I just can't imagine getting my kids up and dapper that early !

You absolutely will not stand out if you don't dress up. Those who are dressed up stand out more than those who are not dressed up but that's sort of the point

I couldn't imagine dressing up in the Florida heat and humidity. It makes more sense at DL with that perfect all the time SoCal weather.

Just to add on - This year the spring DD is in MK, and Fall is Epcot

Rather than doing specific meetup times, they are now doing a time-frame (mid-afternoon, after sunset, etc) to avoid the line buildups. And the evening drinks are the night before at Disney Springs

I plan to be there for both! Just gotta get my outfit finished!

It's going to be my first time, and I'm so excited!!! My only concern is footwear lol.

Shoes can be the hardest part. You could look into theater shoes - they are designed to be worn and danced in, so they tend to be pretty comfortable. They are pretty available in black and beige, but you can find them in other colors as well
