Dapper Day check-in thread

I'm so looking forward to this 1st visit to DL and Dapper Day. 6 more sleeps until we leave for California!
Should we make a time and place to meet so those of us posting can all take a pic together?

That would be fun!! BTW, I LOVE your dress and hope I get to see you in it!

Well, we had a great meet on the 3rd floor, at the Grand, in February, but they check room keys if you're meeting there. We're not staying on site this time so we'll have to come up with a new spot. Do we want to meet somewhere in the park for a pic?

We have lunch plans at 1:00 at Rain Forest, but I think our group is free after that.

What about the lobby of Adventure or Frontier tower at DLH? Is that too far away? They have some seating and it's pretty much unused from what I've seen. They might have the same room key rule, though, but I rarely see any CMs in there.

I did a last minute dash to the shops today to get a dress for Dapper Day! I NEVER wear dresses so this is going to be interesting lol. We fly out tonight, getting so nervous. I spent the morning throwing up lol.

Oh darcie, you have my sympathy! I tend to get really nervous, too, but mine usually results in a migraine. Don't forget to post pics of your outfit!

To help out, I am listing my vacation plans below and let me bop on back Sat & see what replies we get..... my initial best guess is meet up at where the Dapper Day event is being held at OR if the general opinion is at the Disney park - either which way , yes - I feel that I can get some pretty nice shots. Let me be kind and see what replies we get here b 4 a decision can be made.

I'm jammin' right now to the 'Paint the Night' parade music and having a total blast reading everyone's replies.

Tuesday Sept 15th - I am just a chillin' meandering around the Disney parks getting acclimated to the area; free anytime from 10am-11pm
Wednesday Sept 16th - I am out all day at Universal Studios from 7am to 9pm
Thurs Sept 17th - I am out all day at Catalina island from 7am to 8pm

Friday Sept 18th - 1pm on I am free.
Saturday Sept 19th - anytime between 11am-5pm I am free.

or Sunday Sept 20th 2pm on.......I am free.

this Dapper thing has me curious

I am always up for the challenge so why not.....
Yes, I believe that it would be total fun to get everyone together who wants to

Curious if I would need to 'buy a ticket' for some of these Dapper Day events?? Could some kind soul clue me in on this?? Would I be able to buy them at the door??

Cuz yes, I don't mind swinging back to....I am guessing Disneyland Hotel for the Dapper Day events on - is it Friday Sept 18th???

kewton64 is free any time after 1:00 on Friday.

I think the meet should be on Friday since that's the official Dapper Day and everyone will be dressed up that day. DizMe suggested meeting at one of the towers in the lobby at the Disneyland hotel. The Hotel is where the Dapper Day expo is being held, so that might be a good spot. Come on everyone...toss out your thought and opinions!

To answer some of your questions, Kewton64....The Dapper Day events are free, except for the Charles Phoenix show which is being held at the theater in Downtown Disney on Saturday. Tickets are $29 for that event and sold on line. There is also an after party Friday night at the Jazz Kitchen, which is a ticketed event. The Dapper Expo (Friday and Saturday) and the car show (Saturday) at the Disneyland Hotel are both free though. I think they estimated about 30,000 people dressed up at the last event, so there will be lots of people watching to do!

U r readin' my mind about people watching -
To see the creativity in some of the outfits oughta b fun to see. This is gonna be right up the alley on where I am heading off to next.....of all places, my next vacation is going to be Greenfield Village and the Henry Ford.....during baseball season so hopefully I can take in an Old Fashioned baseball game while there (and the city of Frankenmuth as well).

Who's going? We are going for the weekend but won't be there until late on Friday. I'm hoping lots of people will still dress up on Saturday.

Most people dress up on the actual event day, which for the Fall Soiree is Friday. The numbers taper off throughout the weekend.

Okie dokie...disneyluvr2 and I were discussing it and thought Golden Horseshoe Revue at 3. They have lots of tables and good spots upstairs, it's air conditioned, and you can eat and drink there. Do you want to meet outside first or just head upstairs?

Thank you - I like to blog as a way to electronically scrap book if ya will my travel adventures as u can c they are historical n nature (I am a History nut who likes to c who we are as a Nation and how we arrived at who we are, etc).

and yes, I hear ya about having a 'Rita' or 2
while unwinding after a long but good day out at the Parks.

Day 4-Friday Sept 18th
Character Breakfast: Goofy’s Kitchen at 7:30 am.
Afterwards, Hit DCA AND SEE RADIATOR SPRINGS FOR THE VERY FIRST TIME.
Then,
Tour: Disney's California Story; 10am -1pm.
Afterwards,
Tour California Adventure & Disneyland Parks at my leisure while meeting my favorite
characters......
(yes, I am bringing my autograph book)
Then, boogy on over to DCA for some assorted cheeses, meat & wine tasting.
Then see paint the Night parade and Fireworks......


So u can c that anytime after 1pm, I can easily switch up my plans & meet all of you anywhere as my intentions r of course to just have rated D for Disney fun while enjoying a reallllly nice atmosphere. Cuz as I put it:

I am gonna have a blast while on this adventure but not to the point of becoming friends with the Mickey Police.
(a few yrs ago I was rounding the Hub @ WDW & saw an 'old man' w/ a Disney badge muttering under his breath into his Blue Tooth and was wondering who this guy was....then I associated what he was talking about <person being disorderly> & quickly realized that he must be part of the 'Mickey Police' as I waved hello to him......and continued on with my business of having fun).


Having a mixed drink (be it Friday or any other time while on this vacation) sounds very nice & would like the opportunity.

I just checked and the schedule is the same for the 18th, a show at 3:30. We can't meet earlier because of lunch plans and MichelleWDWfan has 4:30 dinner plans. Darn! The GHS would have been a perfect spot! I guess we could still meet there around 3:30, outside, and just do some quick photos.
