I will be living my Disney Wedding Dreams vicariously through you!!

Thank you all so much, ladies! I felt so pretty and like a bride!!! :bride: :goodvibes I also can't say enough wonderful things about Liane from Beaute Speciale who did my hair and makeup. She was such a doll and we got along swell. Now I'm just waiting to get at least a sneak peek of our ephotos! :rotfl: I'm so impatient!

I booked with them as well for my hair and make up for my MK photo shoot and they have been wonderful to work with on the phone as well! I am so looking forward to working with them! It is good to hear that you had a good experience with them :)

You won't be disappointed! Not only are they prompt, professional, and easy to work with, but they have some serious magical make up skills that will make you look like a princess!!! :wizard::bride:

Ok, so...let me start out by saying...

The cat's outta the bag. The reason why I was a little down a couple weeks ago and asked for you all to send some pixie dust is...my Disney Store is closing. :guilty: I'm working through it, but the thought of being unemployed/job searching AGAIN is a pain. And I somewhat resent their decision...they're killing the magic!!! It turns out there are 7 stores in my New England district being closed. :faint: Oh well, everything will be alright, right? :confused3

On to some wedding-related stuff:

When we went down to the planning session, FMIL made it VERY clear that she wanted to stay at the Grand Floridian. :snooty: She even asked our planner if there was any way to still get a discount at it and add it to our room block (persistent, eh?). I just got an email back saying that the discounts for the GF are still available and that we can add them. Well now that I've had time for it to all simmer, I'm just wondering if that is where Chris and I should stay? It kinda makes sense, we are getting married at the Wedding Pavilion and we are stressed trying to figure out where the bridal party should meet the morning of to get ready. (Remember I have set aside Animal Kingdom Lodge, Caribbean Beach, and All-Star Movies in my room block--and I have 7 girls in my bridal party.) I am torn, because I sorta wanted to see animals outside our bedroom window, but I'm thinking so I don't go all bridezilla on the days leading up to the wedding that we should just stay at the GF. :confused3 Do you guys have any advice? What could possibly be somewhat easier? I mean it's not like I won't ever be back to Disney...I can take another trip just to stay and enjoy AKL...hmmm...

here... you need some of those. i'm so sorry about the disney store closing and your job loss :( it's a hard time, especially 6 months before your wedding. you'll get through it, i promise!! our store in florence, ky closed about 2 years ago and i miss it sooooo much.

as i wrote on the resorts board... i think gf is a good spot. you don't want to get caught in traffic on your wedding day, you won't be in the room much to enjoy the animals and you'll be back!! for sanity purposes, i would have to be close. i know some say to do the split stay... but with all the things you bring with you for a wedding--it would be quite the pack up and move--not as easy as a normal trip. Plus... it's EXTREMELY dark in the AKL/AKV rooms. Even with all the lights and the curtains back, it's so dark!! Getting ready could be a real challenge there. I seriously can't believe how bad the lighting was!!!

so, um, cough cough, how good is the GF discount?? i know someone who hasn't booked a room yet and dvc is sold out that weekend so no renting points :rolleyes1

Hmmmm. Well, I think you should stay wherever you want! It IS your wedding after all. And if you want to go crazy bridezilla, then you go crazy bridezilla! :lmao: I stayed at AKL for the first time in July and, let me tell you, it is SO lovely...

...but, if I were you, I'd stay at the GF. :) It's just the PERFECT wedding hotel, and it is so gosh darn pretty! What does DF think?

And :grouphug: about your Disney Store closing. :( I'm really sorry that happened--- the economy is just so bad!

Heyyy!!!

So sorry to hear about the job situation... it is definitely rough out there for sure... :confused3 Much pixie dust your way that everything works out and are able to pick up something quickly! I did most of my wedding planning when I was out of work for a while- so that could be a positive spin... but it is definitely not fun! Hoping for the best for you wedding twin!!!

I would say a split stay too.. but maybe instead of the GF first... how about the AK and then GF? So you still get a little bit of both- but you will be at the GF for all the wedding stuff! Luvluvluv makes a good point about having to haul all the wedding goodies around.... Hmmm... you could always just stay at the French Quarter with me... I will be checking in on the 12th... :lmao:

MUCH off topic wedding twin- but I stumbled across the tabloids and couldn't help but see THIS

Jessica Simpson is getting married on our date!!!!! The nerve!! :rotfl:

I would choose GF...it just seems like the perfect wedding hotel! As for getting ready, I'm having the same problem! I have 5 bridesmaids, 2 flower girls, my mom, DF's mom, my 2 grandma's, and DFs grandma getting ready....13 in all. I am afraid even a GF room will be too small. I have been told that 2 weeks out, if the conference room next to the ballroom in GF isn't booked, then you get that room for free. Right now it's still open, and fingers crossed that it doesn't get booked in the next week. If we do get it, I'll let you know how that works out!

So sorry to hear about your job :(

the GF and AKL is a hard choice. I've never stayed in a deluxe, but those are my top 2 that I would like to try some day. Personally, if I were you, I'd probably go GF for the wedding, just because it's closer and would make things easier, and then try to plan for AKL in the future.

Thank you for the hugs!!! I appreciate all the feedback you gave me--and the advice about how dark the AKL can be...(that was one of my concerns with our wedding photos.)
As of now, it looks like we're being offered about 30% off the Grand Floridian. (It's $25 more a night than our discounted AKL rooms, so not too bad!) ;)

Ahhh, Amber! I love FQ--you're gonna have a ball. Thanks for all the lovin' and pixie dust!

Also, Jessica Simpson is just copying our great minds ;) :rotfl:

Thanks for the heads up! I wasn't aware about the conference room situation, that's pretty cool! I'll probably have to do that too, because my group is just as large as yours. :dance3:

Yeah AKL for the future is starting to look better and better...thanks girlie!

So, after much deliberation and a few emails with our planner...we have added a couple of Grand Floridian rooms to our room block AND Chris and I will be staying there for 4 nights over the wedding (2 days at Caribbean Beach before hand). :bride: I feel that it will make things simpler (for at least myself :rotfl:) on wedding day. And it'll be kinda fun on future trips to see the iconic red-roofed building and say, "that's where we got married" :lovestruc Sappy, I know.

So, looks like the next step will be booking! Hooray!

OH! And so far...7 of my friends have booked their flights and rooms for the wedding! I cannot be more excited!

You make-up and hair look amazing!!!! They did an awesome job.

I am so sorry to hear about your job. That really sucks especially so close to the wedding. Everything will work out though!! Keep your head up!!

Yayyy!!! That sounds like a super fun wedding and honeymoon! Great food choices, and I'm glad you decided on the Gf. :) :)

And you will have a BLAST at MVMCP!!!! Make sure you take lots of pictures. My one regret from my only MVMCP is I didn't wait in line for 2 hours to get my picture taken with Christmas Dress Belle.... and so I'm going to try and get her to come to my wedding! :cool1:

Awesome choices!! I hope you guys have a wonderful time at MVMCP! I haven't been but would love to one of these days!

That's awesome! I LOVED MVMCP it's so much fun! And it's definitely a lot less crowded so it's great to catch up on some super busy attractions! Just thinking about it I want to go back! Christmas carols playing.. snow on main street.. free hot chocolate and cookies! OMG I need to go back now! ;D Check out my trip report if you wanna see some pictures!

And yay for MK/Epcot bridal shoot! I wanna do that so badly! It's the main reason for why we wanna do a vow renewal for our one year!

Being alone is DEFINITELY a must for any honeymoon <3

Sounds great! I can't wait to hear about your time at MVMCP. I haven't been myself, and it's something I really want to do!

you plans look great!! i'm anxiously waiting for november myself. probably not as excited as you!! i've been back for 2 weeks and i'm already restless. i have a 7pm dinner at via napoli the day of your wedding and i'm gonna stalk your DP for sureeeeeeeeeee. dave thinks that i'm crazy that i can point out who's DPs are which when we're there--he's always like, "you act like you know these people." :lmao: wellllll... i kinda spend more time online with them than i do at home with you :rotfl:

i love mvmcp!! the parade is so much fun!! i also secretly like the dancing at the diamond horseshoe with bullseye, lol!
