Hi Everyone!
I've been lurking for a while and thought I should maybe start my own PJ. I guess to start I should start from the beginning...
Rudy and I met while he was a LT in the Navy and I was an Ensign in the Coast Guard. He was my instructor at one of the schools I was attending in Norfolk Virginia. Contrary to popular belief we didn't become 'romantically involved' until my classes graduation when Rudy asked me out on a date. And it was history from there.
Fast Forward to our engagement this past September. Rudy and I went to Colonial Williamsburg for our anniversary weekend since neither of us had been there before. We spent the day at Busch Gardens and at night went out to a really nice dinner. When we got back to our bed and breakfast, our room had been covered in pink roses and I turned around and there was Rudy on his knee. Naturally I said yes!
Today we live in South Carolina, Rudy now works for Pepsi in Columbia and I am stationed in Charleston, and we split the weekends between the two. We have two silly puppies, our golden retrievers Jack and Lola.
The decision to have the wedding at Disney became a very simple one fast. We were originally planning to have the wedding in Massachusetts in November where my family lives, which was a great idea until every third cousin who I've barely ever spoken to wanted to be invited. This quickly brought the guest list up around 250 people which was not in any way what I had envisioned for my wedding. So at Christmas time when we were home in MA, my mom, Rudy, and I decided Disney would be a better option. 1. We love Disney 2. It might help us cut the guest list. 3. With transfer season coming up, and Rudy and I not finding out where we will be going until late April, a July wedding sounded like a better option than a November one because we also don't know what my next assignment will be.
Shades of Green became the locale because of a few reasons. First and Foremost it is very military friendly, and all but two of the bridal party are in the military. Secondly it allowed me to still invite a lot of people but still have the same feeling to the wedding I wanted.
After the wedding we are staying at SOG for a few days and then moving to an undecided resort, we are still sorting through that!

Will try to post pictures later, I'm deployed and the internets a little slow
