My dumb dog just ate my $25 gift certificate to my favorite restaurant. And my DS24 gave it to me for Christmas! Durn dog. If I wasn't a reasonable person, he'd spending the night in the dog house.

Awww thats terrible! What restaurant?

My dog once ate my Bank card they charged a fee to replace it. I brought it into the bank (what was left) and they laughed and they waived the fee.

It would so be worth it to see if you can track that card! If not I'm sorry.

can you find any of the number on it maybe? enough that maybe they can void that number and re-issue it? try drying it out and taping it together?

does your DD maybe still have the receipt from buying it? maybe that together with the pieces will allow them to re-issue it.

I'm trying, why do they always chew the things with value and never the junk mail?

My sister's dog chewed up one of her brand new sandals - she wrote an email to customer service asking for a replacement "shoe" with a picture of the bad dog with the shoe - they took pity on her and replaced it free of charge.

Write a note to the resturant and ya might be suprised :thumbsup2

Darn dogs, I've had so much stuff chewed up it's ridiculous. Oh well, at least they're cute and snuggly. :)

I'm sorry but I think that's soooo funny! I'm sorry your gift certificate is gone, though.

Ipplolitos. It's a really great Italian place. Best pizza in the world.

There's not enough left of it to salvage. He ate all but a small scrap. There is no number. He ate the front of the card with the name of the restaurant on it AND the back of the card which had the dollar amount on it. Literally, there is a slobbery piece of paper about the size of two postage stamps. I doubt DS24 kept the receipt. Grrr. I'm so mad that this stupid dog. He's a paper eater. We have to keep tissues put up because he will snatch them right out of the box. We keep all the papers up where he can't get it. The gift certificate must have fallen off the shelf.

Mine loves tissues also. But she favors the used variety! I wish she would take them out of the box because the other way is just gross even for a dog.
she also likes napkins and paper towels, any paper product but so far not plain paper.

she also cost my DD a pretty penny when as a puppy she ate a tampon out of the trash can and we had to take her to the emergency vet to have them make her throw up to retrieve it before it could swell and block her intestines or her throat if she threw it up herself. Believe me it was more than $25.

Is she laying there with her head down and looking up with her eyes real sheepish?
You are so mad at them but then they look at you with those sad eyes......

Ugh, that's too bad it's not even sort of salvageable. My mom had to tape together the remnants of several chewed up gift certificates, the store workers always had a laugh when she explained. Our old dog was quite the paper eater.

UPDATE--:thumbsup2

I dreaded telling DH about the chewed up gift card, but I finally did it. Turns out that the actual gift certificate was a small plastic credit card-type. He has it in his wallet! The card that Minky ate was just the card that the gift card came in. Woot! :hippie: Ippolito's, here I come.

Excellent! We once had a dog eat a stack of bills that needed to be paid. Luckily my dog now doesn't eat any paper - except for used tissues.

Have a very nice much deserved relaxing dinner. Glad to hear Minky is not in the dog house

DS had a rather large check from his Univ. that was the excess on his fees of which was to go towards his housing for the semester. It got set on top of his sisters guinea pig cage. One of our cats stalks the poor piggies and we assume knocked the check into the cage. By the time I realized what was up(caught it out of the corner of my eye as I walked by) all the edges had been chewed, luckily the routing number and account number remained somewhat in tact and legible.

DS took that check to the bank and got lots of chuckles over that one. We did take a picture of the check for future laughs.

I'll bet he never puts anything else on top of the cage, huh? :rotfl2:

Is it Deck'ster who stalks the piggies? Not to hijack the thread, but we came home from our Orlando trip on Christmas Eve to a new kitten (black and white - now known as Oreo). He is one serious character! He's the only one of our cats who would follow me out into the snow. I don't think he's afraid of anything.

That is hysterical! :lmao:

:lmao: ANOTHER! new animal? ;)
Yes, Deck'Ster stalks the piggies every single chance she gets. I guess the feral side of her will always be there. The piggies now pretty much ignore her and have figured out that she can't reach them, they go about their business and she continues to try to get at them.
We moved their cage for Christmas dinner and Deck'Ster had a new angle to work from, she did keep the piggies jumping a bit until I caught her in the act and threw a towel over the exposed area.

Yes, just what I needed, ANOTHER new animal! :rotfl2: Well, he'll soon be neutered and have his shots.

Remind Deck'ster from whence she came, and tell her to count her blessings (which don't include the Munchkin's piggies)! :rotfl2:

Now we return to our regularly scheduled programming! :)

I am glad that you will be able to enjoy your dinner. When our sweet Aussie was a pupply he chewed up cardboard boxes. Since we get several deliveries from FedEX and UPS delivered to our house, we had to warn the drivers to put our boxes in a BIG wooden box to keep him from "eating" them. I smile thinking about it now. :)

He did out grow it....but I would give anything to have him now chewing on whatever he wanted...we lost him to cancer a year ago. He was barely 5 years old. :sad1::sad1::sad1: I still miss him everyday!

So don't be too mad at your dog.

Just love him everyday that you have him!
