I remember seeing the Beatles land at LAX on their first US tour. I was returning from Japan, where my father was stationed in the Air Force. I wondered who they were since we only had the miliary FEN channel on TV and they only played the Lucy Show.

I remember going out to play and my parents not caring where I was as long as I was home by dinner time.

I remember when filling the car with gas cost less than my running shoes.

I remember being excited about Spam sandwiches for lunch.

I remember listening to the radio shows, and TV was black and white.

I remember what I was doing when JFK was shot.

I wonder how we landed on the moon when a computer at that time would fill a room. A micro computer was still 30 years away.

I remember when the first video game came out it was called pong and was like tennis. This was high tech. Then the Japanese blew us all away with Space Invaders.

Am I the only one who is this old on here? Someone help me out here so I don't feel like father time.

Sorry Dave, I am oldER, but I will never be old! That's my story and I'm stickin' to it!

I'm right with you everything on your list except for the Spam sandwiches...

You both are young at heart and continue to inspire those that are a wee bit younger  and frankly if you didn't say anything like being there when the Beattles first arrived I would never never never have known. :rotfl:

DAVE! When I met you in Cincinnati I did a double take. No way could this guy be doing the Sr Olympics.. You look WAY too young  Can't wait to see you and Erica again in Oct. :)

I continue to be impressed & inspired by our members of all ages and experience. Lead the way, we're following :) Just leave bigger bread crumbs for some of us too follow ... the longer we're out here the hungrier we become :lmao:

Shoot, I remember having to get up off the couch to change the t.v. channels and I believe there were only 3 or 4 channels. I had that job since I was the youngest!lol:mad:

Dave: They had tv when you were a kid? I thought you just had radio's:rotfl:

You are only as old as you want to be. I have a friend who will turn 85 this year and still runs marathons. Way faster than I can do. I have told her with 43 more years of training I might get that fast:rotfl2:

 Diane that was a wonderful thing to say.

We are so proud that you guys have excepted us into your WISH TEAM family.

Dave, I've been around going on 51 years. Of course my wife says I act like I'm 12 sometimes.

You're only as old as you feel, and I don't believe you're so old you can remember when the dead sea was sick. ;) :lmao:

Dave, I can relate to everything but the Spam sandwiches! Mine were peanut butter and marshmallow fluff. No wonder I battle my weight today!

Now only do I remember when TV's were black & white, I remember when nobody HAD a TV and we were the first in the neighborhood to get one!

I remember when I first started driving and gas was 26 cents a gallon!

DH remembers when there were 3 Major League baseball teams in NYC? (Yankees, Brooklyn Dodgers, and NY Giants)

Remember when running a 4 minute mile was a feat to be strived for?!

Remember when there were no women's professional sports?

Remember when Elvis was the King? And when he really WAS in the building?

No, Dave, you're not the only senior here. DH gets his first social security check in September! :yay: :teeth: There are benefits to growing older!

I Don't remember...
:dance3: :dance3: :dance3: :dance3:

:lmao:

Ok, really, I know I'm not the eldest, but I am an elder. Definitely not as old thinking as some days my body tells me.

I'll be 57 next week.

Yes we all will be able to walk back home from the ToT together to. I'm sure sharing a cooler of beer and Rasberry Vodkas will make a nice end to the evening.

Think we can talk Disney into some late fireworks before we head off to bed.
