I love shopping at DTD they have so much cool stuff, that statue of Mickey & Minnie is lovely.

Alright so we had our showers and scoped out the lake and resort area, so we were ready to do SOME DISNEY!!
We grabbedour camera and some CASH ofcourse and headed to DTD- The rain had stopped so we were VERY happy.

We walked for a good 10 minutes to the bus stop and then waited about 10 more minutes for the bus. FINALLY It appeared! We were so stoked to aboard our first Disney bus of the trip

Once we arrived in DTD it started raining AGAIN, and we didnt bring our ponchos- how stupid of us, it has only been raining all day- DUH!!
So we ran as fast as wecould to seek some shelter...and then it let up again...CRAZY RAIN!
Javen spotted this almost immdiatly

For those of you that dont know he is VERY into Lion king right now, especially lion king 2 cause he loves Kovue ( the lion with a scar on his face- Just like Javen).
After we snapped a pic we headed to rainforrest cafe for our reservation...it was only about 4:30 and our reservation wasnt untill 5:30 so I was hopeing they could fit us in early.

We were FREEZING in here- they had the air really low and we were drenched from the rain...Heath kept telling me he was cold, I felt bad for them.
This place was really neat, we hadnt been since 2003 and I forgot how much stuff there is to look at in there! WOW! Javen was amazed with all the birds, elephants etc., and when it started to storm he covered his ears and I could tell he was scared and dint know what was going on. I told him it was a fake storm and would be over in a minute and he smiled...so I knew he was okay.
The food was just okay...I didnt do pictures but I had the quesadillas and Dane had the cheeseburger, Heath had pizza and Javen had mac n cheese. Javen and heath ate all theres but dane and I had some left over.

After dinner we went exploring- AKA shopping!!!!!!!!!!!
Our first stop was goofys candy company ofcourse- the boys had been wanting to go here since last year when they missed it.
Here is a picture of the boys and I (sorry about the way I look, We had been in and out of rain all day)

The boys did the "fill your own tube of candy" thing and LOVED every minute of it! we grabbed a couple lolli pops and headed out.
Our next stop was at what came to be MY FAVORITE STORE, I wish I knew the name of it cause I need to call and buy statues that I forgot to get before we left. Anyway it was a ART store right next to Rain forrest...inside I spotted this amazing picture that I would love to have SOMEDAY!

The statues inside this store were VERY large and only ran about 175.00....i wish I would have bought them while I was there but didnt want to spend alot of money on our first day--- we never made it back to DTD though

Just caught back up! I love the pics of everyone at DTD. Looks like ya'll had some good times over there! That day we were in Epcot. That rain was a mess. Really the only BAD day. We had a couple of downpours here and there but nothing like that day. Epcot is a good rain park though and we got a lot done. I didn't know you could do the Lightsabers at DTD too!? C did his at the Star Wars ride store. I need to make a note of this. BTW did you go have the pics added to your Photopass from the SW's Jedi thing? The borders are so cool! I need to finish editing my PP tonight and get it ordered! I liked all the Halloween border options too. Okay...can't wait to read more!

whoa!! I missed a couple of updates. First let me say that I'd love for you to call me anytime. The only problem is that it would take me 4 1/2 hours to get there so I'm not sure I'd be of much help,lol. That really stinks about it raining when you got there. At least you kept your spirits up though, that's what counts. Looks like you had a lot of fun for the first day. We ate at the Rainforest Cafe in Chicago and while we loved the atmosphere we weren't overly impressed with the food either. My boys dsid the build a lightsaber thing also and I too thought it was confusing so I let their dad help them with that. The pic of them sleeping ( andJaven still has on his Stitch hands) is too cute!

Bummer about the other leak. SO sorry for you. It sounds like you are having my kind of luck...when it rains it pours. Hope all gets better for you.

Hi! I'm a lurker, but thought I'd pop in to say hello & let you know I'm loving your trip report! Gotta ask about those light sabers or sabers or however you spell it. How much does it cost? What was confusing about it? Are there different colors or something? I've never seen these so I'm clueless. My DD is a Star Wars fan and she might like this. Were there any "girlie" ones?

The lightsabers are 20.00, you can make them in DTD aswell as the star tours shop.
There are MANY pieces that go into putting a light saber together so It got kinda confusing to me...There was a CM there to assist with builing so I was impressed with that. There are also different colors you can choose from...I know I seen Green, blue, red, and purple. You can also make a 2 sided light saber but I dont know if that cost extra or not. It was alot of fun..I bet your DD would like it!

All those shops were in DTD? We didn't make it down there this trip.

Oh yesss...many many shops in DTD--you can really get in trouble there with spending- LOL

Yeah rainforest was just okay- I may return just for the atmosphere.
Dads are great with helping with things like lightsaber building

you are like me-- a plans changer! I think I switched resorts 5 times before finally sticking with WL this trip! LOL
You may like CBR...everyone is different, aand I know I read the CBR thread and there are LOTS of people that LOVE CBR, It just wasnt for us.

We woke up about 8:30 AM at CBR..I must say I slept pretty well in the older bed. I was gonna just run over to WL and check us in and then go back to get the boys but they were excited to leave the "pink building". so we packed up the van and and headed out!
We pulled into WL and Even the outside of the lodge took my breath away! It was Beautiful! This was our first time ever visiting WL so It was a nice change from value or mod.
When we got inside I went to the check in desk WITH NO WAIT! I asked the nice lady if there was anyway we could pay the difference for a perferred room...that I wanted to suprise my husband with a nice view...she went to the back room for a few minutes and when she returned she said I have some GREAT news, I have got you upgraded free of charge and your room is READY!! I was Shocked..I thought for sure our room wouldnt be ready till later that day.
She told me where our room was located and how to get there, It is on the 5th floor over looking the Villas pool (quite pool)/ partial lake view...Room number was 5140 and it was PERFECT for us! Very relaxing to sit out on the balconey at night and watch people swim.
Anyway so I told Dane when we were in the lobby that I had to take the suprise baskets up to the room and set them on the bed for the kids ( this info is in my PTR), SO i needed him to keep the kids occupied while I snuck the suprise baskets up....He took the kids all around the resort while I was gone and these are pictures he took of the resort during that time....

Okay so I finally got the gift baskets upstairs and took the elevaters back down to find the guys..we all went to the room and explored...the boys spotted the baskets right away and tore into them!!
