Dancing With the Stars - Fall 2018

I thought that Milo's dance was very high energy but sloppy. It wasn't as sharp as it should have been.

....I can't STAND all that BULLshevik that goes along with the show....the back stories, the commercials....thank GOODNESS for DVR and fast forward!
I really like the "packages" and back stories. I think it's a nice way to learn more about the dancers, especially when I don't know who they are.

Yep, I've gone from not knowing a "star" to loving them by the end of the season because of the packages.

Right. For instance, I'm not a big fan of women who strip down to teeny weeny bikinis (and LESS) for the viewing pleasure of other people. It creeps me out and the whole idea of "Rookie" Sports Illustrated Bikini Model (aka YOUNG) makes me want to hurl. But I watched Alexis Ren's packages and she is a sweet genuine young woman who is cuter than a bug's ear. I'm still not happy about her stripping for Sports Illustrated, but I'm watching her dancing. Without the package I would have still had a totally negative view of her.

That was light on actual foxtrot content, but Bobby was really entertaining.

Bobby's so high energy, I wonder if that makes it hard for Sharna to teach him and that's why his dance was so light in actual partnering & foxtrot steps? :scratchin

How come Joe got penalized for his lift but everyone else has tons of lifts in their routines? I’m confused.

Hi! Some dances have and naturally allow lifts, the Latin & Argentine tango are some of them. Those are the ones you saw with a lot of lifts tonight. Some other dances don't have any lifts and don't allow them even when the dance pros "improvise" a lot of other non-traditional stuff into those dances.

Judge, Carrie Ann, isn't really a trained ballroom dancer. One of the few rules she knows about those types of dances is when they don't allow lifts. So she becomes a real "lift police" when it comes to lifts, even though the dance could have been flawless in every other way. Sometimes she sees lifts that aren't really intentionally there. A star's foot accidentally comes off the floor, and it's a "lift" to her. She always marks down a point for it.

We were both super impressed with Milo tonight! Yes, Charleston is a bit of a loosey goosey dance, but I thought they nailed it. Super entertaining!

At the end Bruno said something about how great the "kids" were. I guess you could call Milo a kid, maybe Alexis, but who else?

Evanna? She will always be young Luna to me.

I also love the rehearsal packages. Sometimes, yeah, the "stories" get to be a bit much but rehearsals are gold.

I mean, isn't it fun to see which contestants don't even know which foot is left when they start out? Or can't really walk?
