We are taking a trip to Washington D.C. On one of our nights we are taking a formal cruise. We are supposed to dress up. The only problem is I don's liek dresses. Would it be weird to go to a dance in a nice outfit, but with pants, or amybe even a dress with a nice pair of tights?

Have you tried shorts underneath the dress? I do that because then I'm more comfortable in a dress.
If you don't want to do a dress, you can find a nice pant suit. Menswear is very "in" right now.

Tights are in right now so it wouldn't be weird to wear some under a dress.

I couldn't see myself wearing a pantsuit to a dance, but there isn't anything wrong with it.

See, when I think "formal cruise" I think sophisticated. Not ball gowns, but very classy and adult. Tights I see as middle school dance-ish. Unless you mean nylons?

u could always wear some nice pants and then a fancy top and some flats or high heels maybe? i dont see anything wrong with wearing a dress and the some leggings or tights

If it's a formal cruise, and you're a girl, you should wear a dress, it would be too out of place to wear a suit.
You could wear a dress and patterned tights or something though.

I would think tights under a dress might be more appropriete then a pant suit...

But if you do go for a pant suit try and make it very feminine with like a ruffle shirt in a pink or purple. Make sure the outfit points out that your a girl...
