Hi everyone! My name is Natalie and this is my ptr!

First this is the cast.....

I'm Natalie! I'm 34 and from Pittsburgh! I am many things in the real world... I work as a OB nurse in a very busy hospital.... Mostly night shifts..... I am also a wife and a mom of the most amazing 7 year old in the world.... She is the light of my life and keeps me busy. She makes me a dance mom, theater mom, girl scout mom, home room mom, and now she thinks I need to be a basketball mom too!?!

This is Dd7. On her first day of second grade, her teacher asked us to provide adjectives to describe her, I thought a long while and chose "happy, funny, determinated, precocious, and whimsical! The last 2 really describe her. This is her 3rd year as a competitive dancer, and she started at or city's big musical theater school this year. In addition to that she is a girl scout brownie, preparing for her 1st communion, and started a basketball clinic. She has a flair for the dramatic, as you can see in these photos!

And last this is dh......

Disney2011-9.jpg
he's kinda grumpy...... He's not a huge Disney fan like me and dd. He said the next time we went to Disney that he just wanted to go for one day in each park. So that's what he's doing..... Coming in the middle of the trip for 4 nights and heading back home! He'll be there for the important stuff, and won't be Disney overloaded so it will all be fine with me and dd!

This will be our 2nd trip as a family, trip 2.5 for me. I got to spend 1.25 days in Disney in 1996 for DCI championships. I had a wonderful day in Mk with great friends, and a few hours in hs (mgm) at the time. In Feb 2011 we spent 10 wonderful days there. Dd was 4. We stayed in pofq and watched our steelers in an unsuccessful Superbowl.

So there are our intros. I'll have more details in a few!

Sorry I had issues adding the photos! Thankfully I figured that out and hopefully this ptr is more exciting!

Our June dates!

So we are planning and hoping to arrive late on June 21st.....that is where the "dance recital"part of my title comes in. That is the day of her dance recital. I would like to leave right after and arrive in Disney late. I would prefer to sleep there and wake up and be able to enjoy the magic first thing in the am! I know it will be a busy day, and I might regret this choice while preparing for that day, but waking up in Disney on Sunday will be worth it.

Hopefully, did will sleep on the plane. She will dance her jazz and lyrical small group numbers and her jazz trio from her competition season, and add a ballet number (confirmed) and hopefully a tap number as well.

So we will get on the plane, dance make up and all, and arrive at MCO, and rake magic express to a little mermaid room at Aoa.

This leg of the trip will just be me and dd7. Dh will stay home until Wednesday June 25th! This is the most important day for our family, but I will leave you a little suspense on why!

We plan on staying until July 2nd..... Crazy huh?:woohoo:

Following along! Looks like we will be there at the same time! My daughter is a dancer too! She is performing at Downtown Disney on the 22nd of June. We are from PA too but from the other side of the state. And my DD's name is Natalie!

How cool! Thanks for following along! Keep us posted when you find you time and we can come over and watch! I wish our dance school would do a Disney trip! We just go as far as Ohio. The older girls do a NYC trip, but were not eligible for that for another year. How old is your dd?

Plans for day 2.........

Day 2 will be our first day in the parks!

We are going to Magic kingdom!!!!!!!!!

Aiyana has chosen her outfit theme for the day to be the little mermaid. It's all based on a dinglehopper. She really wanted a headband with a dinglehopper as part of it.

Now, I haven't sewn in years. My mom is an amazing seamstress. She makes my daughters Halloween costumes and interpretes my crazy designs for her for her Native American dance regalia (she's half native buy from dh's side not mine). But there is no way that I can ask her to make 10+ custom outfits for Disney. She will make one though. The birthday dress!

So I have made hair accessories for her plenty I times, so that part will be easy. I found some great stuff between eBay and in the craft stores. I will post photos of my supplies once they all arrive. Kinda like before and after photos.

We also found a great tank top at justice. It's white with blue beads that look like bubbles.

I also found some perfect fabrics in the remnant section Perfect size and everything. It will be the first out fit I work on so I should have stiff posted on it soon

For this leg of the trip we plan on having the regular dining plan. So breakfast will mostly likely be using some snack credits. We might do crystal palace but not sure yet. I'm not a big breakfast person. And not a huge pooh fan so were see.

Lunch will be at Columbia harbor house or cosmic rays. Or somewhere fun.

Dinner, hoping for an ADR for be our guest. Have my fingers super crossed for that one!

Our park plans...... It's a small world is our first ride. Dd loves btmr and splash so they Re on our to do list.

He rule for this trip s that if you are tall enough to ride something you must try it once. We're see how this goes

So she has to try space mountain.

So we will def have to check out new fantasy land. Our last trip took place when they closed it. It was hard to explain to a 4 year old why she couldn't ride the goofy coaster that she loved the day before!

We have to meet Ariel. Since she's the inspiration for outfit number one. And I'm sure some awesome snacks will be involved.

If its to hot or too crowded we will hear back to the hotel for a nap or pool time.

Sounds fun right????

i am joining in too. This is actually the first year my daughter isn't doing competitive dance but she is still dancing 5 hours a week. She wanted to concentrate on school this year as this is the year high schools really look at here in NY.
'I couldn't imagine traveling on dance recital day since my daughter is in all 3 shows. Last year she left the house at 9:30am and didn't get home until 9pm.

Thanks for joining. Thankfully our younger girls only do one show even if they compete. And we might not get to disney until 9 but that's ok. I just want to wake up there and get moving in the morning. Right now were at 6 hours at one dance school and sometimes 7.5 if she Dosent have ccd and then 2.5 hours at musical theater school. Musical theater school is 30 min of tap jazz and ballet and 1 hour musical theater. At dance she does 2 hrs ballet 1 hour acro a 30 min semi private and the rest is jazz and tap and routines and Xmas show rehursals. ) she has a ballet and tap parts this year). Ill have photos don't worry.

After the Xmas show we start the trio and extra rehursals for competition. This year we took a mini step back from the team that does 4 comps to the team that does 2 comps. So it is actually a little less this year and that's how we find time for musical theater.

She keeps me busy!
