I love it when Abby is saying all of the negative things about/to Chloe like she's not that good...She needs to fix this and that...She's not as good as Maddie...

Chloe has won not only National Championships, but she won the Joffrey Ballet Scholarship and was cast in that music video... AND BEAT MADDIE for those things.

(I should add that I think both girls are very talented, but I really think Chloe is the better dancer.)

Maddie actually won the scholarship too. They didn't put it on the show. I found a DanceMoms site that has the inside scoop. Like Brooke is actually on one of the senior teams too. A lot of what you see is created for the camera.

They wants to create drama I suppose and have this whole Maddie vs. Chloe thing but e two of them are best friends and are so supportive of one another.

I knew about them editing their placements though because my cousin owns a studio and has competed against them.

I also know that when it shows one of the girls forgetting a dance, they sometimes got seconds chances to perform.

I am glad to hear a lot of it is tv drama because I would hate to think that a dance teacher can treat her students like that I would be looking for a new studio and fast

I really got into the show last year, but I have to say Abby has hit the all time high of being a witch. (I mean the other word) I could not stand Jill last year, but she has grown on me this year. I love Kelly and her girls I would say over all. I was so happy she came back and glad the moms took a stand against Abby about that situation, but hate how they all have to walk on their toes now because of a choice. I cannot stand Maddie, I can't stand the favortism that is shown toward her by Abby. If Abby put as much time and effort into the other girls as she does Maddie and now Sophia, they would win their solos/duets/trios/etc if you ask me. Melissa is one that gets on my nerves to this day. She needs to learn to stand up for herself and not let people step all over her.

Cathy and her rotten apples, I told my mom today she gives the buckeye state a bad name. Lol If I were Abby and Jill last night I would've done more than throw water at her. I would have let her have it and not care what would've happened. She knows she can't succeed in competing on Abby's level with girls, so she brings in boys to get sympathy and higher scores. Yes I admit these boys are very talented. Vivi needs to be put against Mackenzie I would love to see Mackenzie kick Vivi's butt, which you know will happen.

I was a high level gymnast and my coaches were never like the tyrant that Abby is. I hate how she treats these kids, I can see them all being in therapy later in life. The whole blow up at Chloe last week over the hat, was just flat out ridiculous in my opinion and premature seeing they won. I would've left too with my kid after that. But Christi lost her cool on camera, which wasn't very smart. Gotta stay calm in those situations.

I love to see them backstage before a performance. They always seem so sweet with each other. Actually all the kids do.

Maddie is a beautiful dancer, but her facial expressions annoy me, too. I've actually said that I see her only being able to express two emotions - 1) I need to take a dump, and 2) I feel better I just took a dump.

Love Chloe. She seems like such a sweet girl. While Christy annoys me, I can see why would stay in a perpetual state of anger over how Abby fawns all over Maddie but frequently criticizes Chloe.

Having said all of that, I do realize that this is scripted TV. Since the girls are so young, I hope that they truly understand this.

I'm sure most of us know that much of this show is scripted or edited to added drama. Well, as it turns out, the Dance Moms walking out because of Kelly leaving was all a lie. They did walk out and have their sit-in in their cars, but it was actually due to a dispute with Lifetime and not with Abby. Of course, Lifetime can't show that so instead they made it look like it was all about Kelly and her girls.



My favorite girls are Brooke and Maddie with Kendall growing on me everyday. I really don't care to watch Mackenzie dance as all of her dances seem to be the same thing over and over. She is cute as a bug, though. I do tend to agree with Abby that Chloe is not where she was at the end of last season but she is still one of the best. I love how much Nia has improved. She really did deserve the most improved award last season. My heart goes out to Paige. I feel that she really does get overlooked and picked on. If I were to bet, I'd say that if Brooke ever ends up quitting, Paige will be done that same day.

Abby's studio is in a nearby town. My DD watches this show but I very rarely will. I think they all act poorly and are setting their kids up to be horrible people.

I have a good friend who's daughters perform with a competitor dance company locally. She has had interactions with Abby and says yep, she is that awful in real. However, she has ran into the moms and says they are not bad.

My DD has interacted with Brooke a few years ago before the show at playgrounds and stuff. Can't say we knew her though.

I have seen Holly out and about shopping. She seems very normal but wow is she tall! No one seemed to recognize her so I just smiled and let her mind her own business. A friend of mine's brother lives next door to them and has said they are really nice people.

We did watch Abby's Ultimate Dance Competition and I thought those moms were even worse. The way they all talk to the kids is horrible.

Holly has to be my fav with Kristi a close second.

I think it was the 1st episode, they did their competition here in FT Wayne. While none of our girls competed, it was filmed back in Oct/Nov, several did go to the show that was put together for the filming. This contest was done way before competition season even started.

But if I remember correctly, there were atleast 3 girls who did the clinic classes with Abby. They said she was nothing like what they show on the show. They were all in the 11+ class. They did all say, that during the class, Abby expects the kids to be paying attention at all times and when she shows and give corrections, that you are paying attention to what she is saying, so that you can help make selfcorrections to your body positions.

I love Chloe.

She is such a talented little girl.

I can't stand seeing her get yelled at, even if it is for TV.

I think another reason I like her the best is that my son resembles her. They have some of the same facial features(weird I know).

I actually don't mind her mother, but I wish she would tone it down and be more tactful.

I do agree that Chloe is a talented kid. And yes, Kristi needs to tone it down.

Actually at some of the conventions at schools it does happen where a studio or team does get a classroom dressing room all to themselves. When my DD was competing she competed at the same competition at the same HS as was shown on the second season of Dance Moms. DD was in this competition several years back before the show started, but our studio did compete at the same comp when ALDC came to town last year. We laughed because we recognized the exact same classroom as the classroom DD's team had as their dressing room a few years back.

I do agree at the hotel conventions the producers are obviously renting large conference rooms so the girls will have their own dressing room -- or would that be TV set or cage for ultimate cage fighting?

Holly is definitely my favorite mom. I think she sets a good example for behavior and career. She doesn't get into all the little spats with all the other moms. I can't stand Melissa. I love to watch Chloe dance, she has the most natural talent. Very graceful!

I watch it. Loved Holly. Love Chloe as well. But I do like Maddie more and more.
Imagine my surprise when I saw Abby on So You Think You Can Dance one time. Nigel and the rest all seemed to have no problem with her at all....actually seemed to like her!!! She seemed to have a completely different persona then!!
I watched them all on a talk show not too long ago...they behaved completely differently than they do on camera.
If my dd was being treated like that, in real life?? No way would I pay for those lessons. Don't much care what the results were.

Oh man. I love Dance Moms. I am getting a little bit over how awfully terrible Abby has become. Scripted or not, it is difficult to watch. Some of the things she does are so irrational and mean spirited that I can't stand to watch. And I don't understand why these moms are okay subjecting their daughters to that kind of treatment (scripted or not).

That being said, the girls are delightful to watch and seem to be really sweet to each other and friends IRL. Chloe is a classically beautiful dancer. Maddie is an amazing performer. Kendall is really growing on my lately (but OMG her mother!) and I've always had a soft spot for Nia. Mackenzie's dances bore me, but I think Mackenzie herself is cute as a button and some of the things that she says are hilarious.

Yep, this is one of my guilty pleasure shows. I have a few.

I figure 90% of it is fabricated. They want to sell a show and let's face it. America loves them some crazy. HOWEVER, I'm pretty sure Abby is not far off the mark. I swear it has to be fake cause if I was a parent I would have punched Abby, Cathy and some of those mothers in the nose. I figure it has to be a paycheck keeping them all from burning each other in ephigy.

I grew up in sports, my nephews compete nationally. There are a lot of Coaches just that egotistical and single minded. In a way they have to be to get that level of performance, but some of them are just nuts.

I also like a show called Cheer Perfection.....The coaches on that show are a lot more sane, but the parents act bat crap crazy just like the Dance Moms.

Hands down, Chloe is my favorite dancer. I actually do like Christi because she tells it like it is, albeit in a crazed sort of way.
I think Paige is absolutely beautiful.

I like Cheer Perfection also! Those moms are INSANE but I love the coaches. I just wish we saw more of the kid's performances and less mama drama. Which is how I feel about Dance Moms as well.
