I thought I would post day 5 -7 together as I don't have as many pictures of these days!

We got up a little later on Friday as we weren't going into Disneyland today, instead we were picking up our hire car and driving out to Knotts Berry Farm. We had breakfast in our room (we bought cereal and juice from White Water Snacks the day before) and then walked the few blocks to pick up the hire car. Last time we went to WDW we hired an SUV (there were 4 adults on that trip) and Pete decided he wanted one of those again, quite why when there was only 2 of us I'm not sure!! Anyway we picked up the monster of a car, set the TomTom to Knotts Berry Farm (TomTom became our best friend on this trip!!) We arrived at KBF before it opened and had to drive around the block as we missed the sign for the car park (that place needs to sort out its signage!) At 10am the gates opened and we went in. We wanted to ride Ghost Rider 1st but it was not running yet.

So we headed over to other areas of the park. The park had a few good rides especially Excelerator, a ride which shoots you from 0 - 82mph in 2.3 seconds and then shoots you over 200 feet in the air and then back down the other side! It is the ride used for the Chanel 4 logo sometimes. It also had a few good water rides which were good as it was so hot. I also liked the Native American Indian village area they had set up and enjoyed watching the Indian dancing.

By 3:30pm we had done for the day as it was warm and we had done all the rides we had wanted to.

We headed back to the hotel and relaxed for a while and packed our bags as we were moving on tomorrow. This evening we ate dinner at Napa Rose, the fine dining restaurant in our hotel which has a great reputation. We had asked to be seated at the chefs counter which we found really interesting. We watched the chefs at work and they chatted to us as they cooked. The chefs sent out some amuse bouche inbetween courses and the wine that the somalier choose to pair with our food was amazing! The staff were so nice and at the end of the meal the somalier asked which our favourite wine was that we had tried and he gave us a free glass of each to take back with us to our room. The meal was pretty expensive, but well worth it as the food was so good!

The next day we got up early as we were going into Disneyland for a character breakfast before we had to leave. We had a breakfast at the Plaza Inn with Minnie and friends. The food was good, omlets made to order, lots of fruit, cereal, juices, pasteries etc. The character interaction was great and the restaurant was quite quiet as it was still Magical Morning time. At the meal we saw Fairy Godmother, Alice, Mad Hatter, Captain Hook (who was very funny when the table next to us went to get food he took loads of pictures of himself with their camera!),

We also saw Chip, Dale, Brear Fox, Tigger, Pooh and Minnie. Tigger was also very funny, he really wanted to be the star of the photos!

After our breakfast it was time to leave as we had quite a bit of driving to do today. So we sadly checked out after a great stay, I would definately stay at the Grand Californian again.

Next we drove to Valencia to Six Flags Magic Mountain. We were staying at the Hilton Garden Inn near to the park. We found the hotel quite easily, thanks again to TomTom. We relaxed a little at the hotel (slightly alarmed at the sight of earthquake procedures in the room!) and then drove up to the park which was up in the mountains. We sorted out our passes and spent the afternoon just walking around the park and figuring out the layout of the place (it was very hilly and there were lots of different paths!)

At 2pm we headed back to the hotel to change and head out again. This time we were driving to the port at San Pedro to meet a few of my dis board friends who were sailing on the Magic through the Panama canal the next day. The hour drive was OK (again thanks to TomTom) although LA traffic did make the M25 look like a quiet country lane!

The next day we got up early and had breakfast at the hotel then drove up to the park for its 10am opening. Now if you love rollercoasters this is the park for you. The coasters there are insane and huge!! There are fast coasters, coasters with huge drops like Golliath (a 255ft drop going at 85mph!), coasters where you fly like Tatsu (face down at 170 feet!), coasters where you stand up, coasters where you sit down and ones where your legs dangle from below the seat.

and my favourite X2. This is a 4d coaster as not only do you go with your legs dangling as you go around the track your individual seat also rotates 360 degrees forwards or backwards. This ride has a 215ft drop which you start doing down with your head 1st backwards and then your seat rotates! It also has fire jets and smoke that shoot out as you pass!!

We had a great day here, even though it was hotter than in Disneyland. We left at 6pm as it was so warm and we needed a break! Then we spent the evening chilling at the hotel.

I really don't like the sound of EXCELERATOR :scared1: but I would probably still go on it... love that adrenalin rush.

Sorry to go on about your photo's but they really are good. :goodvibes

Thanks, I really appreciate the nice photo comments from everyone. I bought a new DSLR camera before we went on the trip so I was experimenting with it and different lenses a lot! The night shots on the other threads were taken using a tripod so I could have a long shutter time.

Another great few days. We tried to get a last minute reservation for Napa Rose on our last night but they were fully booked. :guilty: I agree with you, if we ever go back to Disneyland we will definitely stay at the Grand Californian - probably in the DVC villas when they are open.

I'm so lazy when it comes to taking photo's, just point and shoot. Your effort was well worth it, those night shots are amazing. Is all your photography stuff quite bulky? I bet there's a lot of gear to carry around. Honestly though, with photo's like that it's worth it.

Not really, I carry the camera around my neck and maybe one other lense in my handbag and thats it. Although for some of the night shots I did use my tripod, but that goes in a bag too which is easy to carry. With the exception of the night and darker shots most of the rest of the pictures were taken on automatic mode anyway, so just point and shoot really.

amazing photo's again. you are really packing in the experiences :thumbsup2

Great update....I am loving your photos too, we have a DSLR I would be lost without it.

I am definately putting the Six Flags park on my to do list for next time we go over to LA. I'm looking forward to reading more.

A fun few days, lovely photos. I would love to go on the coasters you posted:thumbsup2

Im a bit of a newbie where coasters are concerened...they look scary !!

Lovely photos.

I agree with you about the signage, we missed the cot off for KBF too.

Your photos are fantastic. I really fancy visiting KBF and Six Flags.

Wow, those coasters are practically IN the car park!! Glad to hear Six Flags' weekend crowds aren't too bad, it's only open at weekends when we go so no alternative really but hopefully the flashpasses will be of some use :)

Great few days-excellent pics again. We went to Knott's Berry Farm-but i hardly remember anything about it.x.

OMG! Look at those coasters, my daughter would be in heaven... me not so much;) Great few days:goodvibes

We look Kirsty when she was only 6 so Mark went on most of the rides at Knotts berry and six flags on his own.

Great photos
