This one caused me endless problems compared to the SW and AK vids. I could not think of a song or theme that gave me a satisfactory mood all the way through the video. The first edits left me with videos that kind of highlited various rides set to the rides music but it was dull viewing and became to long and weary. I decide to use the music to wishes and some of Danny Elfmans excellent Beetlejuice music to combine some views of rides, the park and MNSSHP parade in a better paced montage.

I discovered early on though some problems, :omg: on our visits to the MK which tended to be in the morning we kept getting dull grey weather despite the heat and humidity and my instinct told me to hold off filming and grab footage later in the day. This of course did not happen too plan so I ended up with not enough coverage of the park. I also came across a few problems with getting good Iconic shots of landmarks especially the entrance area due to large amounts of scaffolding , and other disney classic views were impossible due to the mark twain being out of action.

As i finally got around to editing what I had into a short film I also discovered a lot of the night shots and inside ride shots had not come out that well. I did not want to use the infra red type B&W view normally used but show the rides lit as you would see them with your own eyes, the camera had different ideas though .

Anyway last week after getting faster and bigger HDs put on the PC I discovered I had enough power to get to work with some filters and can re expose areas of the footage frame by frame.

Anyway heres the quick result. Its set to music by Wishes which in itself was hard to edit and chop up due to the many key changes. The fireworks are a combination of shots of Wishes being seen from the veranda at Narcoocees(ill correct the spelling later) and the Hallowishes display from MNSSHP. Fireworks are always the worst thing to film so I just chose a few key shots that fitted the music at the right points. The second part concentrates more on the Parade and I now realise I should have changed position at some point but to be honest It had been a long day and I was dead on my feet, the music is Danny Elfmans Beetlejuice theme.

you can use the link below(the neptune one) which will also open sea world or AK as I have set the page up so you can choose when the window opens. Just to remind you broadband is needed and its better if you want to watch fullscreen to allow it to load once. Everything should happen automatically, you dont need to press play once the vid has been selected.

Theres MGM and Epcot to come not forgetting Universal and Busch so my new hardware had better keep cool...

Please give feedback..

Danny:)

Excellent videos I really enjoyed them. It was after watching your Sea World video that I decided I must get a camcorder for next year it certainly brings it all back. Thanks so much for sharing. :goodvibes

Can I ask what software do you use for the videos?

I use Ulead Videostudio 9.0 and connect via firewire... Its easy to use once you get used to using it; but as they say trial and error teaches you lots..

Thanks

Fantastic videos ~ I really enjoyed watching them. Brought back some really special memories when we visited MK for MNSSHP.

Thanx again for taking the time and for sharing them with us.

Excellent job again Dan.

I know these things take ages to put together, but now you'll have them forever.

Dan,
Although you already know how much I admire your videos, particularly this one, I want it on the public record--Your Magic Kingdom and Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party video is beautiful and touching. All the more impressive after reading the description of the obstacles you faced. Your work looks at once professional and amateur (and I mean that in the very best sense of both words). If this lovely video is the result of trial and error training, I can't wait to see the one you make on your Disneyland trip in December. Susan

These are brilliant! Our video footage is still languishing on tape :guilty: - I've had reall trouble uploading it (didn't have such a problem with our vids of the school Christmas productions), even though I've bought a firewire. I want to keep the sound so we get the kids voices on it, but the only option seems to be to put cheesy music (supplied with the computer) over it :confused3

BTW are they supposed to stop abruptly with the slider only half-way along, or was it a problem with the software?

All I can say is wow!!!!!!
I got goose bumps and nearly had a tear in my eye. The music was fantastic and it was really nice to see shots of all the must see places. We went to Sea World for Halloween last year and it really brought back fond memories. But for me Magic Kingdom is home so thank you. What fantastic video's, well worth all the time and effort :cool1:

No it should run continously, it depends on how fast your broadband is and what bandwidth your getting, however the neptune site works in such a way that you can watch it the second time without any chance of interuptions so the best bet is to let it load once fully before rewatching it. The software i use allows you to add any music at all from any source and also allows you to mix different channels so you even if you add music you dont have to cover up the original soundtrack, i use Ulead videostudio 9.0...

Im just putting the finishing touches to MGM which is turning into rather a longer clip due to my love of ToT...

Can't wait for that! Saves me riding it

I can see I'm going to have to actually spend money on software :crazy2:

ETA: DS(6) is home from school with an ear infection and has just watched them TWICE :lovestruc he now wants to go to WDW for MNSSHP, but I've explained we'll have to wait for our schools to change to 2-week half-terms in October, or until he and DS(12) have no more school. Thank you so much for doing these - perhaps I should just send my tapes to you ;)

Those were absolutely fantastic :cheer2: :cheer2: I had such a lump in my throat watching them and the Seaworld one actually made me see the park in a better new light.

Now I just have to figure out how to do this with my camcorder shots. You are an inspiration to a techno-newbie like me. Thankyou so much for sharing your memories and putting a smile on my face,

Claire xx

Thanks claire I have just uploaded the mgm video today, hope you enjoy, theres a lovely shot of chip and dale dancing..

The MGM one is fantastic too! DS(6) and I were so pleased to see Fantasmic, as we missed it because DS was  (missed our FDP at H&V as well, DH and DS(12) went and met with DSis and family without us, and it absolutely poured from the time they got on the bus at CSR until Fantasmic finished)
