I was reading over a New Jersey dog bite case I need to brief and there is it...right there on page two:

"McCarthy later left Peter at the shop, where he eventually found Dan Murphy, another employee, painting a car."

Now Dan...what were you doing painting cars in New Jersey in 1983?!?!

ANCHORAGE, Alaska Dan Murphy stopped all 30 shots he faced and Joe Talbot had a goal and an assist as Alaska completed a two-game sweep of the San Diego Gulls with a 3-0 whitewash before 3,197 at Sullivan Arena.

One night after being demolished 8-1, San Diego registered 13 of the games 15 shots on goal in the first period yet had to settle for a scoreless tie. Kimbi Daniels gave Murphy all the offense he would need with his third goal of the season 1:24 into the second period. Joe Talbot buried a rebound with 18:15 left in the middle frame for a 2-0 lead heading into the final 20 minutes.

The Gulls enjoyed seven power play opportunities but failed to convert, and Chris Lipsetts empty netter with 29.3 seconds left sealed Alaskas victory. Murphys shutout came just five nights after Lance Mayes had blanked Long Beach 4-0 on the road last Friday. The Gulls outshot the Aces 30-21 and 60-49 over the two-game series, yet scored only one goal against 11 for Alaska, who saw its streak of 10 games in a row with at least one power play goal come to an end.

With the victory, the Aces inch a half-game in front of Idaho for sole possession of second place in the Pacific Division at 7-4 overall, 6-2 at home. Alaska makes its first trip to Boise for Friday and Saturday night games against the Steelheads at 5:00 p.m. AST. All Aces games are broadcast live on KFQD 750 AM and at www.alaskaaces.com, with Jack Michaels calling the play-by-play. Coverage begins 20 minutes prior to the opening face-off, presented by GCI.

Dr. Dan Murphy is ICAs New Vice President

World-renowned educator and spinal trauma expert Dr. Daniel J. Murphy has been elected to fill the position of ICA Vice President by the Board of Directors of the International Chiropractors Association. This senior leadership position was left vacant by the recent loss of Dr. Fred H. Barge, and was filled during a special meeting of the ICA Board in mid-August. ICA's rules charge the Board of Directors with the responsibility for filling vacant officer positions. Dr. Murphy will fill the remainder of Dr. Barge's two-year term that began in May of this year.

Dr. Murphy is a 1978 graduate of Western States Chiropractic College and since 1982 has been on the faculty of Life Chiropractic College West. He also maintains a busy practice in Auburn, California. One of chiropractic's most articulate and effective spokesmen, Dr. Murphy appears on platforms around the world speaking before chiropractic as well as other professional groups. Building on his chiropractic college teaching experience, his strong research orientation and many years of experience in private practice, Dr. Murphy pioneered the postgraduate education process for chiropractic management of spinal trauma. He has given over 800 12-hour seminars on this vitally important clinical subject and is universally acknowledged as the chiropractic profession's expert on this topic. Dr. Murphy has also written extensively and served as an expert witness in defense of chiropractors on countless occasions.
